Crazy Lat Pump!

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008
This is most likely my last workout of my own accord.  I have a Prolab demo tonight and Hany becomes my boss on the 26th.  I pretty much whooped my own ass despite being very sleepy. Nitro Fire + FST-7 = ridiculous pumps! Wide grip pulls were weak - it has been a LONG time since I’d done anything with a wide grip. I held the flex during my 30 second FST-7 breaks.

New Year, New Goal, New Trainer

Friday, November 21st, 2008

So, after a great run with Matt Cahill (I cannot thank him enough for the time and effort he put into my progress) I felt it was a good time to put this transition from Figure to FBB into the hands of someone who I thought was absolutely incredible. I have great respect for this man’s training tactics, dieting results, and have watched in awe of his clients. He is a no-nonsense trainer, and though I knew he would take on one or two new clients this year, I never thought he would actually take on such an insignificant person as me. We spoke about my goals and what would need to be done to achieve them, and he was as frank and candid a person as I, so we should get along magnificently.

Hany Rambod is intelligent, articulate, and a true professional. His current client roster includes Phil Heath, Bill Wilmore, Curtis Bryant and Lee Priest. Clients that turned Pro under Hany’s guidance include Leo Ingram, Omar Deckard, Ray Arde and Kristal Richardson. It is an honor to be an athlete under Hany Rambod, particularly since he tends to take clients by referral basis only. This is the beginning of a whole new chapter!

The Wives’ Club

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Exclusively written for Hany Rambod’s www.fst-7.com website  it is my pleasure to bring you this series of interviews with the “better halves” of  very well known IFBB professional bodybuilders, appropriately titled as the “Wives’ Club Interviews”.

This series of interviews was conducted with the women who, as the cliché goes, “stand behind the men” or as I have always been inclined to put it: “stand beside their men”.   These ladies are all unique and individual however, they share one common intrinsic trait.  They are very strong and very understanding to say the least.  Some may classify these ladies as a very rare breed in the general populace but they are commonplace in the small bodybuilding community as we know it, in the relationships that work and last anyways!  The grueling and “mind altering” diets their husbands have to endure, (those of you who have done it know what I mean) in addition to the selfish schedule and dedication they have to the gym, it not only takes patience and ultra-supportiveness but strength to be able to sustain and maintain a happy home.  Their husbands spend a lot of time under the spot light on many occasions showcasing their determination, effort and mind blowing physiques. It is long overdue and about time to spotlight these ladies for their endurance and dedication to their men and their relationships.

My first interview was with the very beautiful Mrs. Jennie Heath , IFBB Professional Phil Heath’s wife.  For those that have been living under a rock and do not know who her husband is allow me to enlighten you.  Phil is currently the third best bodybuilder in the world.  This year alone, he placed third in his Olympia Debut, placed second at the Arnold Classic prior to that, and won the Ironman Pro.  Not to mention that as a rookie he won his first two pro shows competing amongst outstanding seasoned veterans.  Not bad for a man who has only been competing for 5 years total and only 3 years as a professional.  I don’t think anyone would argue that Phil has one of the best support teams in the industry and Jennie has been there every step of the way! Now that we are all up to speed, let’s get to the interview.

Leg Torture! :)

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008
Alright… here it is, leg day with DVSNESS and FAITH FITNESS. It was kind of funny - she’s all dieting and training in a sports bra, I’m bulking and in a baggy Prolab T shirt.

I’m attending the NPC Brooklyn tomorrow, looking at a new apartment tonight/Sunday, and going for a plastic surgery consult on Thursday. I took some offseason pics last night and I am a cow already. That was quick!

Hellen Keller was asked one time what would be worse than being born blind. She quickly replied, ‘To have sight and no vision.’

FST-7 Training

Friday, November 7th, 2008
I am sore everywhere.  I think my hair is even sore.  I have quite a time getting my shirt over my head!  Today’s training used Hany Rambod’s FST-7 training. I think I’m going to give this a shot for a few weeks. The 3-4 set movements are done as regular, straight sets. The 7 set final movement of the part has 30 seconds between sets.

Random thoughts:

I think this might be a journey to somewhere after all.  I’m eyeballing the Empire States and the Garden State in July 2009.

I set my alarm early and voted before work.  New York voting machines are archaic.

The problem is not that there are problems.  The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem.

Not quite whole

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008
Ugh. I am quite frustrated. I know I can’t expect my strength to be back 100% yet, but still. I want more! I was able to DL 225×6 last offseason and I only got 3 today. It was the third movement of my WO instead of 2nd though… food for thought. Anyway, I’m going to start bringing a log book to the gym again since my memory is a bit fuzzy on my lifts.
