Message to Planet Fitness

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

by Gaoshang Xiongshou

This question is moreso for the organization as a whole. I saw nothing on your planetfitness.com homepage about getting an email to corporate. I would hope that you will pass this along to them, and reply to me as well.

Do you not think your stance against bodybuilders is hypocritical? Your “Judgement Free Zone” does the same to us. We are not all meatheads. We are not all judgemental. We are not all juiced to the hilt. What we are though, are hard working, dedicated individuals who give more of ourselves for this than the average everyday person… probably you yourself reading this… do. And for this, we are labeled? Vicious agendas are delivered to tbe public against us? Our character must be attacked because we have the fortitude to put forth the effort for a greater goal?

You ever wonder why we tend to be judgemental at times? It is because people like you are your precious clientele that you are so desperately trying to attract and please do the same to us when we simply mind our own business. So our presence and intensity might intimidate someone… you… you should get over yourselves. The quiet and meek intimidate me, because those are the ones who will flip out and shoot up a place full of innocent people.

Whether you know it or not, your company stance really borders on, or may even cross, the line of discrimination, in theory. From a legal standpoint, it is hard to say. But you people should be ashamed of yourself. And your rules are laughable.

No deadlifting, you say? No grunting, you say? Do not drop the weights? Please sir/madam, do me a favor. Load up the bar to 405 lbs, and go for several reps. If you do not make even make so much as a whisper when exhaling, and can sit it down on the floor gently… again, after several reps… please video this event, and send me the link to the posted video. I would love to see it. And if you can do it, I will be quiet. Otherwise, you really, REALLY should back up off of some of your ridiculous rules.

I asked that you reply to this message. You probably will not. If so, this is quite indicative of the character that you have… or lack of.

I really look forward to your reply. Have a nice day

So how much do you bench, bro? :p

Exhausted!  Pro-only days don’t provide much energy.  Scheduled off day, and I did an appearance at Nutrisport in NYC. Good times. I’ve noticed that Smartwater tastes really good.

Meal 1

  • BioBeads
  • egg whites
  • multi
  • Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM
  • Beta Alanine Extreme

Meal 2

  • Advanced Caffeine
  • 96/4 ground beef
  • green beans
  • Vigor
  • Beta Alanine Extreme
  • Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM

Meal 3

  • Prolab Isolate - Strawberry
  • Beta Alanine Extreme
  • B5

Meal 4

  • chicken breast

Meal 5

Meal 6

  • tuna

Random thoughts:

I’m going to make a shirt that says ‘More Than You’ across the front. I don’t know when the bench press became the indicator of fitness or strength, but I am sick and tired of being asked and this shirt would provide an acceptable retort.

I have brown hair!  It wasn’t my idea, and I’m not used to it yet at all. It’s part of the process of not having 4 colors in my hair. I have to do this again in 6 weeks, then 6 weeks after that I can do whatever I want with the color - I’m thinking lighter, and with highlights. Lucky I have 14 weeks before I have to be cute on stage!

So yeah, 14 weeks to go. I lost 1 lb this week. Matt seems pleased with the pics. No you can’t see. The guy Matt was helping with his prep for the Muscle mayhem show yesterday, Bryce Holmes, won his class and the Most Muscular award.

Speaking of yesterday’s winners, congrats to Felicia Romero, Heather Mae French and Kristi Tauti for qualifying for the Olympia at the Cal Pro!

Training in the dark

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008
To use RP training for single leg movements, I used my weaker side (left) first for a true RP set, then just duplicated those numbers on the right. Other than the power going out in the gym after my Bulgarians, good workout. We were instructed to leave the gym floor and wait upstairs in the lobby until the lights came back on. I was not about to wreck my workout by getting cold in hopes of the power returning soon (and it didn’t), so I brought my BB and a step up to the lobby and finished my workout. Cardio was done outside along the water.

Thermo Fire taken pre-WO.

Warmup not listed.

Meal 6

Random thoughts:

I got off work early for the holiday weekend, so I walked from my office to my demo. The walk was only a few miles, but on a protein only day carrying a gym bag full of shakers, shirts, protein, MRP and Nitro Fire samples, it really was a chore. Luckily I had the city freaks around to amuse me on my trek. Big ups to the guy walking down 5th Ave smoking a joint like it was no thing, and to the guy telling his Yorkie to ‘Focus, or you’ll never get it!’

There was a guy on the subway who looked just like Dexter Jackson from the neck up.  Body, not so much.

Random thoughts:

Denise Richards was at the office today for a luncheon. She’s one of the few celebrities that actually looks as good in person as she does in print. I’d love to put a few pounds of muscle on her frame but her face is really pretty.

I was able to walk to the gym as it has finally stopped raining!!
