Holy liquid calories!

Another off day from training. I didn’t want to, but I also didn’t want to be in mid-pulldown and have blood gushing from my mouth. I’m still trying to keep my BP down. This all liquid diet is ridiculous. I love the taste of my protein powders, but I would like to chew some food soon.

I really hope I can get back to the gym tomorrow. Missing training and cardio is NOT helping right now. I mean seriously, can this be any less convenient? The Arnold is four weeks away. I also have a demo on Saturday and I’d really appreciate being able to speak more clearly.

I may be crazy, but I think it’s taking longer to get dark at night. There is still a faint glimmer of daylight when I get off work and that wasn’t there last week.

A trip to the dentist… :(

Dental fun:

I was asked if I wanted to put that nasty thing under my pillow.

When I got the local anesthetic injections, one of them hit the infraorbital nerve. Due to the temporary restriction of the blood vessels there, I had a white circle on my cheek for a little while.

I have to keep my temper in check.  Whenever my blood pressure rises, I can feel the pounding of my pulse in my jaw.

Full body curls and 2 inch squats

There were a million people in the gym; it was as if they were giving out prizes for the worst form and the whole city was competing. The Versa Grips work better for pulling than pushing but I still like them. I was supposed to do abs but I forgot.

Alternating DB presses are humbling. I found the 40s harder to move like this than the 50s were to press simultaneously last week.

Cals/macros are unknown as Meal 3 was at my cousin’s house, as it was my nephew Ryan’s 4th birthday. I seem to have a problem with self control. I’m a bit embarrassed. After all of the PMs and emails I’ve gotten about being an inspiration, and how impressed others are with my dedication, I’m failing at my plan. It’s high time for me to get my head out of my butt and focus.

In addition to the general feeling of disappointment I have, there’s also this little twinkle in the back of my mind… so a touch of mental confusion… not this year, but is crossing over on the horizon?

Versa Grips = Love

Although it was my lighter/high rep back day, I used my new Versa Grips arrived yesterday. I’m in love! It was effortless and for once, I felt everything in my back instead of my forearms. I’m going to bring them again tomorrow to see if the wrist part is supportive enough to be sufficient for chest training.

My back is friggin’ killing me. Maybe I won’t go heavy on the DLs anymore. After 2 sets of SLDLs, by back was like ‘hell no!’ so I’m going to see the chiropractor on Tuesday hopefully and get some ultrasound and therapy.

Only light weight done on calves because those suckers are big.

Off day from training. I should really be doing some laundry but it’s too damn cold out. I’m a little annoyed that my upper and mid back are not sore at all, though my lower is still slightly tender from the heavy deads over a week ago. No matter how much weight, the tempo, or how long I hold the contractions, I can’t seem to really murder the mid back for thickness the way I want.
