I haven’t been tracking my macros precisely (though I was always sure to get in enough protein) but will begin doing so and posting them from this point forward. I didn’t get in a whole ton of cals today since I as a superpig yesterday and had several helpings of spaghetti and meatballs, as well as brownies.
It is freezing, windy and miserable. I am so ready for Spring to arrive.

Jury stuff is still crazy. Going to work tomorrow.

Well, just when I was free, I’m a prisoner again.  For the first time ever, I am following someone else’s training program. Admittedly, I think it’s a bit of an unusual program, but for the next three weeks I will be adhering to the workouts that Matt has designed specifically to helps stop imbalances in my physique; it works the muscle groups normally in the opposite order, which will take a bit of time getting used to. I’ll just be listing the weights, sets and reps. There is very specific tempo and rest between sets. Tempo will be indicated in italics. I won’t be listing my warmup sets.
I trained at my regular gym today. They’ve brought in a new manager and he seems to be making some improvements. Maybe I will stay there after all, who knows?

It was a good eating day, though. Lots of good and varied food since it’s Saturday and I’m not trapped in a courtroom. Tomorrow should be lots of bad and varied food since I’ll be at my nephew’s birthday party.

Happy December! That went fast, didn’t it?
Well, it’s the moment I’d been waiting for; I’m free!! No more 10 rep sets! I trained at my potentially new gym again. I really liked that the hack squat had its foot platform against the wall, so if your feet slide a bit (as mine often do) you can use the wall to your advantage.
The leg equipment (and the rest for that matter) is certainly not shiny and new like the stuff at NYSC, but it’s good, rugged metal machinery, very reminiscent of what was at Bev’s gym in Syosset. And there’s a standing leg curl, which I adore.

I went to work today since court wasn’t in session. There are no words profane enough to describe the hell that was catching up on what I’d missed during the week, compounded with correcting all the ‘work’ my boss had done. This is way worse than jury recess boredom.
As I mentioned previously, I went to a different gym today. I’m contemplating a switch. This gym is cheaper and about the same distance as my current one. It is smaller, and it doesn’t require a long contract. They don’t have 35 lb plates, which is odd. I guess I’ve also gotten a little spoiled with the towel service at my current gym, but I don’t think I’m getting my money’s worth. This gym does have a leg training room, which is pretty cool. I’m going do legs tomorrow there I think (got a week free pass) which should help me decide, especially since legs will be a major focus for improvement.

Holy calve cramp!!! :( It seized up on me between bicep curl sets, the really bad way when it gets all hard and won’t move… I had to sit and try to rub it out, laughing all the while ’cause what do you do? Add to that the fact that I was training in a different gym, where since I was the only female lifting real weight, I was already being watched. At least they were laughing with me in a kind of sympathetic fashion. It’s been tender ever since and I’m a little limpy now; hopefully it will be gone by morning. The curse of having good calves that you I don’t have to train, I suppose? I mean, seriously, who has calve issues on delt/bicep day?

My co-jurors are pretty cool. While I cannot share the details of the case, I can tell you we had some heated games of Uno. :D There are now 16 of us; since it’s going to be a long trial, they chose to have 4 alternates instead of the regular 2.
Since I don’t have access to a fridge, you’ll probably see at last a bar and shake every day, with the best thing i can find for lunch. It sucks, since going out gets friggin’ expensive!!

So, it’s official. I am a juror in a Supreme Court criminal trial. We were warned that this may be a long case, perhaps until January. I’m not that upset, as the court is closer to my house than my office is. The hours are better, too!
