Day after Bulgarian split squats, Ow!

Holy sore booty. Despite the light weight used yesterday, I’m sure feeling it now. I had some slight soreness upon waking which is getting progressively more noticable. I truly missed the sensation; I feel alive again! No training today.

Random thoughts:

I love grocery shopping. I have to admit, I have some issues about not having food in my house, but the pantry is pretty bare when I’m dieting so that I can’t cheat. Seeing a full fridge and pantry just makes me feel better.

I got some Claussen half sour pickles for the first time in years. Best pickles ever. After a long internal debate, I did not buy ice cream. I did get the makings of… *drumroll*

Nutella Ravioli!

I found a recipe for Nutella ravioli with a brown sugar Frangelico sauce. I’m supposed to bring dessert to Thanksgiving at my friend Heather’s, so I’m giving it a test run Sunday evening. it was very odd to buy real sugar (not Splenda or stevia) and all purpose flour (not ww, oat or bran). If all goes well and my guinea pigs give it a thumbs up, I’ll bring that and an ice cream thing. Baskin Robbins and Carvel both have pretty elaborate seasonal cakes.

I’m thinking about switching gyms again. The one I go to is good because it’s so convenient, and I like having a handful of the members around (other competitors and people I trust to spot properly), but the state of disorder is getting worse and I don’t think I’m getting my money’s worth. I’m considering perhaps looking at some gyms near my office, but then I’d be kind of forced to take weekends off if I didn’t want to schlep into the city.

I’m hungry and sweaty, all day every day.

Trying Bulgarian split squats for the first time was interesting. The rubber floors in the free weight section of the gym are seriously uneven, bubbles and divets. This made my balance less than optimal, even when warming up with bw only. I may try doing them on the smith next time where the floor is smooth.

Dave Matthews came to my office for lunch, hence the catered gluttony. After a good sized salad, I had several sandwiches and cookies. Several too many.

The tuna and crackers I’ve been having are these Bumble Bee Sensations. They are the best canned tuna has ever tasted. It still stinks, but at least it’s flavorful. So far the Tomato Basil is better than Lemon Pepper.

Drama at the gym… for the record, I’m hungry, not pregnant. I didn’t get a boob job, I gained weight. And I don’t use GH, I have no idea where that one came from. Goodness.

The meeting was called to order at 4:00pm by Jim Manion, Chairman, IFBB Professional League.

The roll call was taken; the following members were present:

[Explanatory note: Currently, for any one-category female bodybuilding competition except the Ms. Olympia and Ms. International, the top 3 finalists qualify for the next Ms. Olympia. Where there are two categories, the top finalist in each category qualifies.]

[Explanatory note: After some discussion, the committee held the majority opinion that the judges were already shaping the look for female bodybuilding with the winners they choose and therefore, there was no need for additional criteria other than what is currently expressed in the Pro Rules.]

A proposal from Jenny Lynn regarding the release of contact information of Athlete-Members to the Athlete Representatives.

[Explanatory note: The IFBB Pro League office will ensure that the Athlete Representatives are provided with up-to-date contact information.]

Other Business

The following Other Business was briefly discussed:

1. Where possible, the individual judge’s scores should be listed in the contest results reported at www.ifbbpro.com

2. The fine of US $1,000 for athletes who withdraw from a competition without a legitimate medical reason, as certified by a physician accepted by the IFBB Pro League, will be enforced.

3. In future, Athlete Meeting times will be approved by the IFBB Pro League and will be published at www.ifbbpro.com for each event.

4. In future, the IFBB Pro League will publish at www.ifbbpro.com comprehensive contest information, including an updated competitor list.

5. The members voted to reject the request for reinstatement from Lee Priest.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:00pm.

Sunday in Syosset

I trained at Bev Francis Powerhouse Gym today. It was pretty interesting since Muscular Development was shooting a video for their ‘In the Trenches’ series while I was there. They had a few of the guys from last night’s show, including a father and son that both took top 5 in their respective divisions. I think that is very cool.

I honestly don’t recall all the weights, reps or sets (didn’t bring my log book). I know I did hit it harder than my advisor would like, and that it felt really damn good.
