Success!

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

I placed 2nd in my class of 18, and am now a National Level Figure competitior!  After all the dieting and busting ass, the reward could not be more sweet.

Reflecting on 2 days out

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Wow. So here we are. I did a quick deplete and got a ton of compliments at the gym. The adjective of the day was ‘ripped’ :) . I cannot control who my competiton will be or what the judges will reward, but I do know that I am pleased with the package I’m bringing and with the improvements I’ve made. I won’t see the inside of a gym again until Monday, which is weird suddenly, as I spend more waking hours there than in my own home! I look forward to stepping on stage with pride in two days and then celebrating with some of the people I care about so I can express my appreciation for their aid and support. It’s been a long road, but quite rewarding.

3 more days until round 1

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

I’m ready.  I said it a few times but it’s just getting absorbed now.  I’ve done all that I can to prime my physique for this show, and I’m really ready.  Granted, I’m having some last minute hairdresser issues (anyone from NJ want to hang out in Jackson on Saturday, lol), but my body, the main thing I’m presenting, is ON.

I have added a bit more size to my legs during the short span I had to bulk between shows, and I’ve maintained it during this cut.  I expect to come in about 3-4 pounds heavier than I did in April, which doesn’t sound like much, but it does impact a frame my size.

I sincerely want to show my appreciation to my wonderful, supportive boyfriend and very talented Jan Tana artist, Danny (deserusan).  I’d love to return the favor some day, so get your butt on stage already!

I am very grateful to my sponsor, Prolab.  Prolab products have been a great asset to both my bulking and cutting cycles and are further proof that quality supplements can greatly aid in your physique goals.  Cinnamon flavor protein while dieting is like heaven, and the new Thermo Fire really works!!

I also need to mention Matt Cahill (Sldge), who has been my advisor since the Summer.  His eye for symmetry and vast knowledge have had a marked impact on my improvements.  His patience with both Dan and me is impressive as well!  :D

Thanks also to all of you, for reading, for showing interest, and for wanting to be a part of my journey and hopefully success.  I’m as ready as I’ve ever been.

Yes, I know…

Friday, October 19th, 2007

…I have really sucked at updating!  I’m now 8 days out from the Gold’s and 3 weeks from the Eastern’s - then it’s ravioli time!!  I’m as ready as I’m going to get!  I’m visiting my advisor tomorrow so that he can see me live rather than just pics, and we can iron out the details of the final week.

My spirits are high, my confidence is improved, now I just have to make it though to the end without falling out, lol!  I am a bit clumsy these days…

Thanks to all of my readers for your support and well wishes throughout my prep; the positive contributions of people I’ve never even met, from near and far, is truly humbling and appreciated.  You guys make my day!

You know you are a figure competitor when……

Friday, October 12th, 2007

I had to share this with you guys - I was rolling laughing!!

You know you are a figure competitor when……

1) For a few days each year your toilet seat is brown and this time it isn’t your husband’s fault (fawking pro tan)

2) You can honestly say you have spent more on a bathing suit than your wedding dress

3) Six inch clear hooker heels is your footwear of choice in your own home (and not just in the bedroom)

4) Someone asks about the man in your life and you tell them that Gym is fine

5) You have two sections in your wardrobe. Contest and Offseason…they are not mix and match

6) Your top three priorities on any given day:
Workout, Eat Clean, Check the fitness forum board (Not necessarily in that order)

7) You can name any pro figure competitor by seeing her butt alone

8) When someone wants to take your picture, you immediately spread your lats, tighten every muscle in your body, point your fingers and SMILE

9) You take more pills daily than your 80 year old grandmother

10) Your idea of dressing up is taking your hair out of the ponytail its been in for a week

11) You have had someone close to you, hide food from you in your own house.

12) An easy day is lifting and only 1 cardio session

13) Instead of carrying a Gucci purse you accessorize with a Coleman cooler

14) Waking up so sore you can barely move puts a smile on your face

15) You can’t do any work because you are to busy counting down the seconds until your next meal

16)The faint smell of Pro Tan gets your heart pumping faster than your man’s cologne

17) You leave a little trail of Splenda packets, tupperware, and empty water bottles everywhere you go

18) Your hubby makes you pee in the guest bathroom because every meal includes asparagus

19) You consider Beano an essential part of your supplement regimen

20) Your jaws are sore because you can’t stop chewing sugar free gum

21) You spend at least 5 minutes grilling your server at a restaurant, and another five minutes re-writing the menu until you’ve got a meal that meets your requirements.

10/5 - off/cardio

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007
I meant to have a true off day to day - no cardio, no nothing - but I couldn’t for some reason. Since it was supposed to ba a no-fat day I added some hazlenuts for balance.

Noon - walk outside
Night - walk outside

Random thoughts:

My jeans were falling off me as I walked home from the train. I look like a thug.

I got a bunch of Halloween candy (mostly Reese’s stuff) and stashed it at my friend’s house. There is going to be some serious gluttony after show #2.

I’m warm. Hot even. Then again it’s in the mid 80’s and I’m walking a lot and taking fat burners.

I got some Lipoderm-u in the mail today. Gotta love bb.com’s fast shipping.

10/4 - no ravioli. meh. ;)

Asparagus makes pee smell funny.

True multitasking is filing your nails while walking home from the gym. I got skills.

My cousin is trying to get me to take his Rottweiler since his new landlord vetoed the dog. Ceasar’s a sweet puppy, but I don’t think this is the best thing for me at the moment.
