Random thoughts:

It’s kind of a relief to get back home and back to dieting. I feel like I’ve been in limbo for a few days and outside of my little macronutrient comfort zone. Though I’m quite glad to have taken the time to run a mock carbup, I have to now undo the ‘damage’ and I feel like a water buffalo. Though I don’t want to go fatless on training days, I will be going low-fat if you will, including it only in meals one and four for the next few days. I’ve raised the cardio a drop as well and will maintain that until I’m back where I was before the CHO load.

I have discovered that step-ups using my toilet instead of a box are a good form or AM cardio when it’s cold out. I am nothing if not resourceful. ;)

9/17 - I hate all this cardio

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

I had some crazy quad pumps, probably because I still have quite a bit of glucose in my system from the large (and successful) peak test. My legs felt like metal pipes, full cylinders with no definition they were so full.

Quads, Abs and Cardio

Smith Stationary Lunges
smith +90×15+15, +110×12+12, +120×12+12

Low Shoulder Width Stance Machine Seated Press
190×20, 210×15, 215×17

Single Leg Ext
30×15+15, 35×15+15, 40×12+12

————-

Kneeling Cable Crunch
120×20, 140×15, 140×15

Stability Ball Crunch w/Plate Overhead
25×15, 25×15, 25×15 DROP 10×15 DROP BWx20

————-

Incline Treadmill, Level 11
20 minutes walking backward, 1.7 speed
15 minutes walking forward, 2.2 speed

————-

I did 20 minutes of step-ups upon waking.

I walked two miles during my lunch break at work.

I walked 15 minutes each way to/from the gym.

9/15-16

Thursday, September 20th, 2007
I’m exhausted. Atlantic City ended up with no shoot, a raging headache and spending the night at the Taj since I was in no condition to drive after that kind of day. The show was pretty good though and I had front row seats, so no complaints there. I called almost all the winners - I had Johnnie Jackson winning the men’s, Nicole Ball the women’s LW, Lisa Aukland the women’s HW (though I personally like Betty’s physique more), Tracey Greenwood in fitness and Colt Wynn in the wheelchair division. Figure was a shocker - I had Heather Green taking the one spot by a large margin. I had Paola in the three spot, but I guess the judges were looking for something else.

The wheelchair comp was wonderful. These guys were really inspirational. I hope to see this division in the NPC more frequently.

Anyway, it’s back to work and training tomorrow! I have to undo that carbup and get back on track! 6 more weeks!

9/14 - packing for the AC Pro

Monday, September 17th, 2007

This has been a pretty fun carbup. It’s made for some interesting conversations at work. I feel like a walrus but my quads look really good. :D I basically ate a lot and didn’t train today, so there’s not much to inform you of. Tomorrow I’ll be doing a demo up in Yonkers, then driving down to Atlantic City for the Pro show, and possibly staying the night there.

9/13 - holy carbup!

Monday, September 17th, 2007
I won’t bore you with my full body depletion workout. These are the only times that lifting isn’t fun for me. I basically did all parts, starting with strengths and ending with weaknesses. I was pretty hopped up on carbs.  Now I’m just pretty full and bordering on drowsy. Must stay up for one more meal!!!

Now, I do love me some food porn, but that little shot landed on my cell phone via picmail, thanks Shannon! It’s pretty funny how we tease one another. I’ve been littering the Myspace pages of Shannon and Danny with treats, and I know Billy has had pizza and cake delivered to Guy’s work. It’s tough love!!

Random Thoughts:

It seems that there’s a good chance Dan Ray got reassigned to work in Tx rather than Atlantic City, which sucks. However, there will be a bunch of good photographers at the pro show, so hopefully I can salvage the evening. At the very least, I’ll get to look really full and tight at the show!  I’m excited to see my reaction to this newer peak plan. It’s certainly a tasty one. If it doesn’t work well for me, I know I can always fall back on the one I did last time for dryness, and simply raise the volume and gi for fullness.

9/12 - grocery torture!

Monday, September 17th, 2007
Well, I intended to do some AM cardio as I knew there would be no time PWO since I had to tan and get groceries, but it was COLD when I awoke and I was not going out there! I walked 2 miles during my lunch break in an attempt to salvage something, and I WILL do AM cardio tomorrow - last cardio before the test run!

sled +70×18, +90×15, +110×12

Plate Loaded Kneeling Curl
sled +50×15+15, +50×15+15, +50×15+15

Feet Together Good Mornings
65×15, 65×15, 75×12

————

Feet Elevated Holding DB Crunch
10×20, 10×20 *superset*

Stability Ball Crunch w/Plate Overhead
25×10, 25×10 *superset*

Hanging Leg Raise
BWx20, BWx20

————-

Random thoughts:

The lovely picture above is from this evening’s grocery adventure.

Without divulging any secrets, this carb up should be fun (no, the Pillsbury thing isn’t in my peak plan!). It did feel odd buying some of the items that I typically don’t eat, especially since I was still in my gym clothes. I got a somewhat self conscious feeling, like I didn’t want people to think I ate like this all the time, which is unusual since I’m usually not concerned by the opinions of others. I did pick up some bison steaks for cheap, though!

Catching up - 9/10

Monday, September 17th, 2007
Unsceduled off day. Headache. I grabbed some REM and an icepack and slept for 10 hours. One of these days I’ll find a way to adhere to my planned split.

Sunday - Quit looking at me like that!

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007
I should mention, though I’m choosing not to share my diet until next weekend as discussed earlier, I’m not depleting in the way I would during my final week of actual prep. There is still fat in my diet. Losing weight too fast now would only serve negatively in my real goal, which is still 48 days away.

Quads, Abs and Cardio

BB Squats
95×15, 115×17, 135×12, 135×12

Single Leg Press
sled +90×10+10, +70×12+12, +70×12+12, +50×18+18

Bench StepUps
15+15, 15+15, 15+15

Single Leg Ext
30×20+20, 35×15+15, 35×15+15

————-

Decline Crunch
20, 20, 20

Obliques on Hyper, no rest
15+15, 15+15, 15+15

————-

Treadmill, Level 1
tension band crabwalk, 4 minutes each side

————-

I walked 40 minutes upon waking.

————-

Random thoughts:

I thought I was getting odd look before when I was walking backward on the treadmill. Sideways with a band around the quads raises the stakes. As does camping out on the gym steps with tuna and broccoli.

Today’s squats were the best I’ve done since cutting began. I let go of precise foot placement and just got down in it, which felt excellent.

Saturday was…

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007
…7 and 9 weeks out from my shows! Although I have been very forthcoming about everything until this point, I’m going to discontinue that practice this week. I am doing a dry run, aiming to peak Saturday for my photo shoot with Day Ray at the Atlantic City Pro. Anyone going to AC next weekend, anyway? As I was saying, dry run… I don’t like to divulge how I deplete/carb up/peak. So, for the week to come, supps will remain the same in the porbiotic/fat burner area, and I will continue to post my workouts.

So, I did some morning cardio and a Vitamin Shoppe demo, then went to my cousin’s for a bit. Working six days a week (plus a few nights), training, cardio and my commute from hell are starting to take a bit of a toll on my patience. I’ve always had a touch of ‘road rage’, but I was seriously on edge today.
