Dad is down another 1.6 lbs. @ 46 for 14 weeks; I put on 1.2 lbs. this week!!! Matthew lost another 1.8 lbs. this week putting him around a 53 lbs. loss for 14 weeks, and Mark put on 2.2 lbs. for the week.
My weight is frustrating me. I am back into clothes I haven’t worn in over a year, and I feel great, but the scale is stuck! I did a lot of flying Wednesday and Thursday, and did not get anywhere close to my normal gallon of water per day for the last few days, so maybe that’s part of the reason for the gain this week. I have only missed one swimming work out in the last week, and got in all 3 Kettelbell workouts. Although I will say I have been dragging all week in the energy department. Not sure why, but I am just tired!!! I am fighting to get thru my kb workouts, and the 27 laps in the pool are taking me 3 minutes more than in the past few weeks. Last weekend’s trip to the youth camp cost me a lot of sleep, and I expended a lot of energy, and flying and entertaining customers took its toll on me this week. I didn’t get home until 1:30 AM Thursday night due to flight delays…
Well it is time to tighten up! I need to divide my points into smaller meals throughout the day, and make sure to start drinking my whey protein shakes again. I have also gotten very lax in my supplements. I must re-focus! I’ll update my stats in the morning.

Well week 13 is in the bag…Dad was down .4 for a 13 week total of 45.2 lbs.; I weighed a day earlier than normal, but was down 1.6 for a total of 36.8 lbs., Matthew was down 1 lbs. for a total of 50.6 lbs.; and Mark was down 1.8 lbs. for a total of 35.6 lbs. Ole Mark is like the tortoise in the big tortoise and the hair race!!! Never a big number, but always around 2 lbs….Which is probably perfect!
I was glad to have lost a meaningful number after being stuck for 2 weeks. I did increase my food intake last week as it relates to WW’s points to off-set the working out points I earn for the swimming and Kettlebell workouts. And that seemed to work. This past weekend, I DID NOT eat clean do the fact I was at a wilderness camp as a chaperone with about 80 kids. I ate what the messhall served. But I did have TONS of physical activity. We did the ropes course, bubblegum chewing contests (which I had 33 pcs. in my mouth when we ran out of gum) , basketball, volleball, football, and the walk from anywhere to anywhere was actually a hike. So I sweated the entire weekend due to exertion. It was great! The high school kids couldn’t beat the 5 men in any atheletic event. Old age and treachery will triumph over youth and vigor every time.
I told my wife that I am sooooo excited about the weight I have lost, and the effort I have been putting in my excersize, because without both, I wouldn’t not have been able to impact the kids like I did. I am going to be a small group leader at the school where I will lead life discussions with about 8 teenage boys, and I needed to earn the right to talk to them. That was accomplished this weekend. (funny how the best way to earn the right to speak into a teenage boys life is to beat him, or compete with him at a given sport!) This will allow me to be transparent to these kids, and have them open up with me as well. They got me to show off my tattoo from the stage to the crowd of camp counselors and kids that were there in an answer to the question of….what about you would surprise most people to know? Kids today just need adults that are real with them to help them navigate through the muck that the world \ satan is throwing at them. My Mom spent many years putting the same investment of time and herself into teenage kids when my brothers and I were coming up through high school, and she was a constant in my mind this weekend as I gave these kids everything I had in order to build a relationship with them and earn the right to speak into their lives.
Hope you have a great week!

Weighed in this morning, which is a day sooner than normal since I will be out of town this weekend with the highschool kids from school as a chaperone. Lost 1.6 lbs….which is good considering it is a day earlier than normal, and i have been at an off site meeting for the last three days and two nights with munchies and eating out. I ate clean. Thank goodness for fatfree pop-corn to snack on while everyone else was knocking out junk snacks!!!

It has been over two weeks since the scale has moved worth mentioning, and I am starting to get VERY frustrated. I am eating clean, and staying within my Weight Watchers points. I am swimming further now, 3\4 mile = 27 laps, and I can assure you the Kettlebell excersize my trainer has me on is a killer. I am doing my KB work with double 44’s. This includes clean & presses, rows, swings, etc. I am burning 500 - 700 calories per 40 minute session according to my heart rate monitor. So what gives…..
I have about one more week of being stuck on the scale and then my bros and dad are going to take me out back to the shed…(for my Bodyspace friends not raised in the south, that constitutes a good ole fashioned kuntry butt whoopin’)
Headed to the YMCA now…I just have to stay on track.

Finally got some pics up. I figured out that I needed to crop them to make the small enough to upload. Now I will be able to keep my progress pics updated every 4 weeks as originally intended. A pic is definitely worth a 1000 words…I swam 27 laps today which is 3\4 of a mile at the YMCA. Going to bed soon so I can get up and throw around the kettlebells in the morning. Last week I began the latest 4 week segment my trainer has written for me, and it is all double kb work…tuff stuff. I am clean and pressing two 44’s, rowing them, and also putting them in my rack and doing dbl. front squats. Of course I am doing a little more, and obviously finish each workout off @ 150 swings. PUKE!
Hope you have a great week if you have taken the time to read this. Check out 1 Corinthians 9: 24 - 27 if you want a word on discipline. I am going to make sure that my weight is no longer my disqualifier as a man of God in my home, my friendships, or my work!!!

The numbers are in…My dad lost 5.2 this past week for a 12 week total of 44.8 lbs.; I am stuck in a RUT!! - I lost .4 lbs. this week for a 12 week total of 35.2 lbs.; Matthew is doing great! He lost 2.5 last week for a 12 week total of 44.8 lbs.; and Mark is steady as a rock with another 1.8 lbs. loss for the week for a total loss of 33.6 in 12 weeks.
I stayed after "class" today and spoke with the weight watchers leader. She told me the reason I have plataued is that I am not eating enough points to make up for all of the working out I am doing. She told me that I need to be eating the extra work out points that I earn on the WW program from all I am doing. I will do that this week. But I am going to make sure that the extra points consist of clean foods. My measurements are still changing, and my body fat % has continued to drop, so I am making progress. I just can’t loose site of the fact that I have another 79 lbs. to go by July of next year to make my loss goal and be able to have my father take us all on the trip to Europe for 8 days!!!
I still can’t get my progress pictures to upload for some reason. I am taking them every 4 weeks, and hope to get them up eventually.

I am nervous about tomorrow’s weigh-in. I am eating clean and working out hard, but the scale is not moving…Measurements are heading in the right direction though and so is my body fat, but I still have 79 lbs to loose. Other WW folks said that there are sticking points, but it is frustrating! Oh well, it is a marathon, not a sprint!

Well I hit a wall this past week. Put on .2 lbs…. But I am still under 3 bills. I counted all my points. And those I have talked to about WW’s said there will be weeks where you do things right and just don’t loose. Dad didn’t weigh since he is out of town on a golf trip. Matthew lost and Mark lost. I don’t have the totals though. Next week is week 12, which due to my Body For Life background, is a meaningful time measurement. Although my weight didn’t go down this past week, I did take off another .5" in the waist. This is a marathon and not a sprint. I hope to have a good week this week though. I would love to have off 40 lbs. in 12 weeks!!!
Matthew, Mark, and I are all now swimming a half mile without stopping doing a freestyle stroke. Mark is the king in the pool! Matthew and I are just over or under the 20 minute mark, while ole Marko is @ the 16 minute mark for 18 laps. Pretty strong. I start into double kettlebell drills next week for the final 4 weeks of my 12 program. That should be just tons of fun.
