Dealing with things

I have been back training for a while, but not really posting anything to my blog.  I have been reading those that catch my eye and looking at the picture of those transformations that inspire me.  I have always loved to work out but bodybuilding is very different.  It’s one thing to test your body and mind to the fullest in the gym and its a whole different thing to eat the same thing day in and out for 5 to 6 meals.  Its easy to get tired if your results are slow and you are watching others acheive there goals with seemingly minimum effort.  But if you really want something you cant get it by doing nothing and if you get it by doing nothing you have really earned it.  So I am back to the 45 min of cardio, back to the meat and brocolli  and back to the training. After all, " The end justifies the means."

I know what you mean. My sister is a trainer at a gym here in Vicksburg and swears she is out of shape. But I can see the difference in her body and here I am going to the gym 4 to 5 days a week and instead of getting smaller I stay the same. It’s frustrating, but we can’t give up. Maybe I’ll see you at the gym one day and we could workout together.

    Dubb,

Just keep with your plan bro. My experience after a year and 2 months is that (for me at least) minimum effort means I don’t meet my goals and the progression stops. SO I hear you. It takes so much discipline and so much time to really sculpt out something you like seeing in the mirror. I’m not there yet but I keep pressing…I keep working…I try to stay discipline 6 out of 7 days a week, and I keep repeting what I know is working. My progress has been slow in my own mind because I thought it would have happened a lot faster but It has not been that way with me. So, just keep at it and don’t quit…and stay disciplined. You will get there. Best of luck and continued success. BD

I know this is an old blog but you seem to be in the same place, I’ve picked up that what other people achieve in a relatively short space of time makes you feel a bit deflated. You have to ignore that - you can never tell what people are doing outside of the gym, what they do or do not take or eat etc.. there are lots of things about other people that can make you feel like you’re failing yourself if what you do seems to not have half the effect of what they do, even if you are perceived to be working harder. One other thing that never gets talked about nearly enough is your general activity. What do you do outside of the gym? Are you active?? Do you spend the whole day sitting in front of a computer or are you running up and down stairs lifting heavy objects all day and constantly on your feet, dancing around and never sitting until dinner time? That makes a huge difference! Just watch young children, my 3 year old is so lean, no ab fat at all, she is obviously growing so can eat anything and it will be used to fuel her growth, but she never sits down, always on her feet running around, jumping, pacing, climbing things, dancing, singing and even when she is sitting she isn’t still - she is fidgitting and wiggling and all up until bed time. If you really think about it, you know that you aren’t moving enough, just watch young kids and you’ll see the key is to be generally active. 1 to 2 hrs in the gym isn’t the same as 12 hrs of movement!

Good comments detour. My 3.5 year old son is the same. He is tall and eats like a man (3 eggs, 3 sl bacon, toast, and milk for breakfast) and he is lean as anything, but he moves all day and night. I’m working out in the gym and getting results, but running around 24/7 would add to that. Good point.

Dubb, meat and vegetables, cardio and lifting. Lather, rinse, repeat! You’ll get there!

Dont lose faith brother! It only looks easy when looking at the prgress pics, but believe me, its not. But you gotta continue the fight. Thats the only way to get results. The prgress pics only show you two sides. Before and after. They never show the days when you ask WTF am i doing this for, the days when youfeel like turning the car right around and going home, the days when your ass is dragging in the gym, the days you feel like throwing that plate against the wall and high kicking it to Micky D’s. Pics dont show that part. But thats the reality of it. Stick with your training and diet….it does get easier the longer you stay tuned in….but its always a fight. We’ll help you win yours though!!!

    Dubb,

I’m with you 100%! I was in your same position at one point and frustrated with my self. my thing is I was so fucused on someone elses progress to the point that I wasn’t paying attention to mine to realize I had made drastic changes also. My things is this, dont focuse on the now. Focus on the final product and you will be just fine. everyone has to start somewhere. Keep up the good fight! DO WORK!
    200+ FOR LIFE! LOL!
