Tuesday, doctor appointment…

Well, had my 6 mos doctor appointment today.  Haven’t lost any weight since November, in fact I weigh a pound or so more… POOH.  HOWEVER the results from my blood test are very very good!!  My blood sugar has been down, I got a new monitor and I’ve had some sugar crashes.  My A1C hemoglobin test was awesome - 6%!!  So my doctor is reducing one of my sugar meds by half!!  YEAH!  She said monitor everything for 2 weeks, and report in.  If I’m still getting good numbers, she’ll reduce the other sugar med by half, also.  YEAH, BABY!!

And my BP is awesome - 110/70 today, and similar numbers recently.  She won’t take me off the BP meds, though, because she said it is protecting my kidneys.  I guess I can live with that; she did change the meds in Nov from a diuretic to non, and I’m still doing great.

Now the not so good news.  :(   My triglycerides are still waaaay tooo high.   Scary high.  My cholesterol has come down, and it’s almost good, but the tri-gs are awful.  However, instead of putting me back on some of the traditional meds, (which make my heart palpitate!! YUK), she gave me concentrated fish oils - omega-3s.  I have to take FOUR of these huge horse pills a day.  She said she has had success with others using this, so I am all for it!!

I told her what my workout has been like.  She asked how many calories I’ve been eating.  So she told me to try this:  1800 calories, and reduce the intensity of each day.  Continue to work hard, getting my heart rate up like I have been, for 45 mins/day.  And to work out every day.  She said alternate my cardio and my circuit training, but do it every day.  She said this should stop the sugar crashes and also the exhaustion.  I trust her on this, even though she is a doctor, because she put herself on the P90-X program and she has lost weight, and she knows what she’s talking about.  So tomorrow I start a new plan.

I guess I’ll post here as well what she wants to read from me.  Hopefully this will do the "trick", for everything - my weight, my triglycerides, my sugars… the whole deal.  That will be GREAT!

Have been eating "not smart" the past few days.  Not junk, but not wisely.  I need to push the protein!!  I feel so bloated, and my jeans are actually a little uncomfortable around my waist.  NO NO NO!!!  Have one more week til Dave gets home…  and May 27th is my doctor appointment.

Did pretty good on my food yesterday - resisted the urge for brownies… ! My daughter had to make some for a school party and there was ONE tiny one left…  but I could have made all kinds of snacks… but I didn’t!  And for some reason I wanted a bowl of cereal.  But I didn’t get one.  I made myself STOP eating… jeesh!

Didn’t work out last night, and I wanted to get up early today so I just went into my room and watched TV until 9.  Fell right asleep, well, about 9:30 lol.  Slept all night.  Slept right thru my alarm.  Woke up at 6:45… jeesh!!!

Got another compliment today!!  WOW, two days in a row!  The "bug-man" came in today, comes every quarter.  Hasn’t seen me since Feb.  Says "Man, you are wasting away, what are you doing? On a diet or something??"   LOL  I said "working hard, cardio and weights"  He said "Really?  You are lookin good"    WOW, this will keep me going all day, and into tomorrow!! LOL

Planning on keepin it lean today…  and lots of water.   Something tonight when I get home, either my Gazelle or my ab sculpt.  Whichever one I don’t do, I’ll do in the morning tomorrow.

ok, I don’t get "around" much so I’ll take compliments where I can get them…  Seafood guy comes by today.  Hasn’t been here in almost a year.  Sells Gulf shrimp and fish out of coolers in his pickup truck.  I bought some of each, go out to the truck to look at ‘em, I’m leaning against the bed of the truck, on my tip-toes.  He’s pulling out fish and putting it in a bag for me, and does this long sideways look… "Man, you look good, have you lost weight?!"  I said "yes" he says "You been workin out?" "I said yes, working hard."  He says "Oh, sorry, you’re blushing."  I said "I am?  Good… "  haha!  

That came just in time - help me not pick up a bad snack when I run out to the bank here in a few mins!!!  LOL!!

Wednesday and updated week stuff

Ok, never did post stuff for Monday -  5:30 am did 30 mins on the Gazelle and my total body circuit, takes about 20 mins.  Tried to do my ab sculpt when I got home, too tired, did about 10 mins.  Food really good.

Tuesday - tired in the AM; food really good, Ab Sculpt about 9 PM, takes about 22 mins.  Felt really good!

Wednesday - 5:15 AM did 30 mins on the Gazelle and my total body circuit.  Wore my heart rate monitor this time.  Says I burned 332 cals on the Gazelle and 209 doing the weights for a total of 541 cals burned.  All before breakfast!! haha.

Working on my menu for today, want to keep the cals between 1300 and 1436, with either an even protein/carb or higher protein.  Got to guzzle the water too.

I haven’t weighed myself, I will wait and do it on Saturday.  I might take some measurements, too, who knows… 

I feel goooood  :)

Was pooped by the time I got home last night.  Good thing I work out in the mornings… I started the Ab Sculpt, but I was so sore in my hips and started feeling tired… so I only made it halfway through.  I ate my dinner, cooked food for this week, and decided to soak in the tub.  That put the lid on it - I was SO sleepy by the time I got out!  I was asleep by 9:10 PM.  Zonked.

I set my alarm for this morning, got up at 5:30, but my body still ached, so I went back to bed!!  I’ll do something this evening.  I’m hoping I can leave work a little early.

My food yesterday was good - I don’t know the cals or the ratios, but I didn’t overeat anything, and it was all clean food.  And I even had a decent amount of water.

Still pumped, although I’m a little quieter  ;)

Monday morning

GOOD MORNING!!!  OMG, I can’t believe how pumped up I am… and it’s not caffeine, or drugs… it’s EXERCISE!!  I’m running around like a crazy person, running my mouth… lol.

I had a great weekend.  I was able to eat pretty smart, took off yesterday with all exercises because I was SORE!!  I did walk a bunch with Cricket (my horse) and I sweated out there with her, but I don’t really count that.  I didn’t take a vinegar capsule yesterday ,and  I did NOT have a crash.  So I used my flex spend money and bought a new blood sugar meter and supplies, and I’m going to start testing several times a day for a few days, then every morning until my doctor appointment.  I think she should be able to at least reduce my meds…

I’ll post my food later, and I’ll put in my exercise too, since I’m going to try to get in an Ab Sculpt when I get home from work.

DUH

Alright!  Stayed on track yesterday, no soda WOO HOO! and was tired when I went to bed.  Oh, also had a sugar crash around 4:30.  I took my cider vinegar supplement yesterday, mid morning.  I’m wondering if they are doing their job, and that’s why I crashed…  need to keep track now.

Ok, back to today.  I got up, and decided to do my Gazelle.  The whole time I’m thinking how am I going to increase my cardio… hmmm….   Then it’s like a dumbbell fell on my head.. DUH!!!  Increase the Gazelle time… HELL- OOO!!  I’ve been doing the beginnner advanced routine all this time.  And yesterday remember, I picked it back up again.  Well, today I did the intermediate routine, which is 30 mins.  35 mins total with the warm up and cool down.  I probably could have done the advanced, which is 45 mins, but I had already stopped after the 30 mins.  *!$%  I can be so dense sometimes…

It was hot in the Look Good Nekkid Gym, so I was sweating like crazy!  My tshirt was soaked all around my neck, and halfway down my front, and my whole back was soaked.  YEAH, BABY!!!  LOL  the only time I like to get soaked from sweat.  Then I did my tricep workout just because, then I did the Ab Sculpt.  I really felt it today!!  Probably should give it a rest on the abs tomorrow.  THEN I ate my breakfast - egg beaters and some cinnamon cranberry raisin toast.  MMMM.

Tomorrow I will do more Gazelle, skip the ab workout, and do the rest of my body on my circuit routine.  That should just about do me in.

The food for the rest of today…  tuna for lunch, yogurt/protein/fruit smoothie for snack, and probably chicken for dinner.  I have all my kids this weekend so I have to please them, too.  Fortunately, I dont’ have to spend any money at the groc store this time… 

Had to come in to work to use the internet, so gotta go now.  Gonna torture my horse  :)

Car deeeee YO!

This not having a computer at home sucks… hopefully it wll only be another WEEK!! ACK!!

Have you seen the taco bell commercial for the bacon club gordita? Where the girl puts one in her purse to attact guys because "guys love bacon?" TOO FUNNY!!!

Yesterday I did my cardio kickbox. I ate pretty good, which means I didn’t eat any junk. For some reason I was dying for crunchy, starchy carbs… I ate 3 sections of low fat cinnamon graham crackers. And a 100 calorie pack of choco-grahams. And then half a box of raisins. That was part of my dinner. The rest of my dinner was a 6" subway chicken breast sub with no cheese or mayo on whole wheat. Then about 8:30 I had a small bowl (1/4 cup) of Kashi Go Lean crunch.

 The rest of my day I ate oatmeal and a protein shake for breakfast, nonfat yogurt with some raspberries for snack, boca chili with some lime fritos and some carrots for lunch, steamed broc/caulif for snack. I’m sure I had something else, but I can’t remember now… ? maybe Ididn’t. I know I WANTED something else, but I didn’t eat it. I fought with myself all day yesterday on food and working out… very weird. The highlight I guess is that I didn’t have any soda. One day down…

I went to bed early because I wanted to get up at 5 AM today to workout. Whaddya know, I did! I knew I wanted to do the Abs Sculpt, but I didn’t know which cardio I wanted to do. I decided on my Gazelle. I haven’t used it since November, since I started the interval running and then the jump rope. So the Abs Sculpt was good, I do like that workout. I was hot and kinda sweaty when I finished. Ended up being about 15 mins til I started my Gazelle because I couldn’t find my tape!! Well, I kinda knew where it was, but I had to go GET it… PHEW! Felt good to sweat like that again! My legs felt like they were ready to leave me, and now I’m feeling it in my butt and my outside thighs. I get really sore in my hip flexors, probably from carrying 4 children, so I hope it doesn’t get too bad. I really like the Gazelle.

I guzzled water, then ate 1/2 cup of Kashi Go Lean, with probably 1/2 cup of 1% milk. So far now today I’ve only eaten my snack, which was 1 cup of nonfat yogurt with 1/2 cup of frozen mixed berries, and - get this - 1 scoop of my rootbeer protein powder. !!! It was an experiement, and thankfully it turned out ok!! The rootbeer flavor mixed well with the yogurt!! LOL!

For lunch I have tuna in a green salad with oil/vinegar, and some steamed veggies. I made a blueberry crumb bread for Randy for his birthday, and it’s "healthy" so I’ll have a small piece of that with lunch. Then for my afternoon snack I have a protein bar. For dinner I’m having fish and green beans. I’ll figure out all the calories and ratios later…

I’m not planning on any soda today, had some crystal light, and have 3 more bottles of water. Maybe I’ll get some more cardio in later tonite - jumping rope or something.
