Hello - - remember me??!!

LOL!  I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 weeks since I’ve not only written anything, but even LOGGED ON to my bodyspace!!  Whoa.

I am now a year older.  YAY! hehe.  I had my doctor appt on Monday, and she says "I have good news.  Not GREAT news, but good"  So what she told me was that my BP and my blood sugar are looking awesome.  That part she was happy about.  My cholesterol and triglycerides, although they have gone down, were not low enough.  But instead of putting me on more medicine [ Y A Y ]   she said "I want you to lose 20 lbs"  I said DUH, what do you think I’ve been TRYING to do???  She gave me this big list of things, plus how many calories she wants me to be on.  I said I am doing all of these things, plus that is the exact amount of calories I have put myself on.  So she said then I want you to keep doing what you’ve been doing, but add this:  get your heart rate up to [this number] and keep it there for 45 continuous minutes.

Oh.

I said ok.  So my friend Randy (V65mag) gave me a heart monitor that he wasn’t using, and I’m now going to bust my a$$ jogging.  I’m looking forward to it.  It’s cold outside and it will do me good.  And I have 6 mos to lose 20 lbs.  She said she’s positive she will be able to take me off my BP and both my sugar meds at that point.  That is what my ultimate goal was anyway, so this works for me!!   So let’s hope jogging will break this stooopid plateau and get me losing!!

Its been a tough week, but it hasn’t stopped me!

Ok, this week has been one I won’t mention again!  I said I had work challenges last Saturday and this Thursday as far as food, and once again, my body has rebelled against me.  I won’t post my weight, it’s just frustrating.  It’s not HORRIBLE, but I don’t want it to be on public record.

HOWEVER!  Not to be beaten, I have been guzzling the water, and today I started a new cardio program.  I have no idea if I have plateaued (is that how you spell it?) with my other routine, since I still get results and i added some extra time, but I was browsing the articles about a week ago and found something that sounded like fun.

It’s an outdoor thing, with intervals.  This is all it is:  10 mins (I choose fast walking), 1 min of faster pace (I choose jogging), then 30 secs of rest (walking again), then the 1 min again with the 30 secs of rest, doing this for 6 intervals, then 10 more minutes of the original walking, with stretching at the end.  It comes out to be about 28 mins, I think? 

Anyway, I did it today.  It kicked my butt, but I know it’s only for this time and possibly next time - I only managed 5 intervals, and 2 of the rest periods had to be for a min.  I walked from my driveway to the High School track - that took 11 mins.  Then a 1 min jog took me halfway around the track (remember, I hate to run), a 30 sec rest (walk) took me around the curve, etc etc, and then it took me 11 mins to walk back home.  Total time when I got back to my driveway was 33 mins and 20.3 secs. lol  I can do this without my stopwatch next time, I think.  And I’m pretty sure I can get my butt out of bed in the morning to do it.  Just need some reflective tape and a flashlight.  AND!!!  I might even get Dave to get up and go with me when he’s home - THAT would be even MORE awesome.  Especially since it’s hard to get out of bed early when he’s home, because I want to spend as much time next to him as possible.  But I digress… lol

I don’t like to run, jogging for 1 min intervals is about as much as I can handle right now, but I was definitely winded and my heart was pounding!  And I was red-faced as usual when I get my heart pounding.  (well, except for THAT).  So since the weather is cooler and being outside is good for you, and we all need to change up our routines to keep the fat burning, I think this is going to be a good idea for me.  I will keep you posted.

Plugging along

Well, I did my best for the weekend challenge, not sure how I fared.  Today’s weight 162.6   :P    :P    :P    Trying to drink more water, we’ll see how I do on Friday.

Oh, going to change up my weights to the free weights for a little, going to just do the 5 basic lifts, total body each day, 3x a week.   See how it goes.

This has been a weird week.  My diet has been A1+  My workouts have been F-   I did cardio on Sunday and that is all I have done all week!! But my weight this morning was 159.6   That’s good.  I know it could be better, but it could be a lot worse too!!   I still have 2 1/2 weeks until my doctor appointment.  Saturday I have a food challenge (work related) and Thursday I have a small food challenge (work related) but  I think I can handle all the days around that.  If I could remember to drink extra water, that would help!!  (Why is it so hard to drink water??)  So I’ll try to kick up my cardio this week, and see if I can get down another pound or two by next friday.

Gosh, almost forgot my new promise…  ack.  My weight this morning was 160.0  Same as last friday!  I think I caught Bryan Gee’s flu- I’ve been in and out of the bathroom all day.  I should weigh 100 tomorrow…

I know I need to kick up my cardio.  I just dont’ feel like it.   Tomorrow should be a better day!!!
