Monday, October 29th, 2007

I didn’t watch ANY of the World Series games, too much other stuff going on.  But wanted to say WAY TO GO BOSTON RED SOX.   :)   4 game sweep, 2 titles in 4 years.  Guess they’re making up for lost time!!

BRRRR!!

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

Can you freeze off pounds??  I mean, can you burn off some fat just trying to keep warm??  I went to the HS football game last night with my oldest daughter for Parents’ Night, and I froze my a** off!!!  My weight this morning was 158.0 !!  LOL

Ups and Downs

Friday, October 26th, 2007

WELL.  As you can see, posting my calories for the past week and my current weight every Monday isn’t working.  I’m having a hard time on the weekends sticking to my diet, especially when Dave is home.  Not that I’m eating bad foods, just mostly over eating on portion sizes, or having something very different than chicken.

So I’m going to try to give you my weight on Fridays.  My calories have been pretty consistent, 1400 to 1575 every day, and I’ve found good combinations of foods to make my meals balanced, so that part is getting easier.  The best thing I’ve found is that I’ve not missed a workout in 39 days straight!  I think that is the most key ingredient I’ve been missing before.  Ok, and the tighter rein on my eating.  Oh heck, who am I kidding, it only works for me if I do all three:  cardio, weights and being focused on my food.  lol.  But this is the longest stretch I’ve done all three yet, and it’s starting to show!  YAY!!  I see a tiny light…

I’ve also been doing specific stomach exercises.  I am a big fan of Tom Venuto, and he reviewed this e-book and it sounded great.  The author specifically mentioned these exercises are great for people who have had caesarians or abdominal surgery, hernias, or who have had their stomach muscles cut one or two or more times.  So I bought the e-book, and I have been doing these exercises for - only a week?  Wow, seems like it should be more, because I am VERY pleased with the results I am seeing already!!  More light - it’s getting bigger!!  Here is the link for the e-book:

My weight this morning was 160.0  I’ve fluctuated up and down by fractions of pounds over the last 2-3 weeks.  One day I knew it was water because my fingers felt fat.  But the last 4 days or so I’ve gone down little bits at a time.  This weight thing is driving me crazy!!  LOL  I know you’re not supposed to weigh every day, but I have to… then I can see that something I did the previous day did good, or did not good, and also it helps me keep tighter tabs on my food/water intake and my cardio workouts.  Blah blah blah… ANYWAY - - -

So yesterday in itself was a yuky day, but the sun was shining, we weren’t too busy at work, so I got a picture of me wearing the same shirt as my beginning progress pictures, so you can check it out and see that I am making progress.  I was actually scared to take the picture, in case I didn’t look any different.  But I think it does look better.

Hope everyone has a FABULOUS FRIDAY (it’s payday for me), and also an awesome weekend!!

Argh. Food.

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

I wish there was an analysis for the food you eat when you just go off on a "binge", for lack of a better word…  I don’t have any extra cash, so I haven’t been eating Jack In The Box hamburgers, or anything like that, but I haven’t been on my plan for lunch or dinner the last 3 days…  and I haven’t eaten any M&Ms or cake or anything like that, either.  It’s like my body is fighting me to go below 160, and anytime I do, I get cravings to eat "regular food" like sandwiches, or beef stew.  Or heck, just broccoli in cheese sauce!!!  I’m still eating my good breakfast, my good second breakfast, and my good afternoon snack/meal, but JEESH! Monday I had a sugar crash, for no apparent reason I could see, only 2 hours after I ate a decent lunch, with a protein shake to boot!  I had to eat my apple, and my peanut butter, on a piece of bread that someone had here at work, and I found a Quaker granola bar in my bag that I had for the kids.  Fortunately, it kicked in quickly, but holy cow!!  I hate that feeling  :(    Today I felt like I had to eat junk, like tortilla chips.  I had to have something, so I got one of those nuts/m&ms  trail mix things…  and I drank extra water this afternoon.  But I still feel like a bloated cow  :(   ARGH!!  I can only imagine what I’m doing to my liver and/or kidneys…    ???

Sneakin’ in a quick post - -

Friday, October 12th, 2007

I’m very pleased this morning, I don’t care if my weigh in day is Monday…  I’ve been good all week, I weighed 159.2 this morning…  YEE HAW!!  :)

Monday

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Well, last week was better with my food.  I feel really good about several days, my balance between my protein and carbs, and the amount of calories and intensity of my workouts…  This starts another week.  And Dave will be home Wednesday.  But we’ve talked, and he’s going to work WITH me, so I hope to stick to my plans.  I’ve cooked my rice and chicken for the week, and measured and weighed, and everything is in it’s little containers! LOL…

My weight this morning was 161.0   I feel I’m starting from scratch, but HEY, at least it’s not 165 or higher!!  I really would feel so much better if I could get it below 160 and have it stay there!

Off to do my cardio…  have a great day!

Another small victory for Diane

Friday, October 5th, 2007

I have a watch, it’s got a linked band, you know, stretchy?  It used to fit only on my wristbone.  And snugly, at that.  WELL.  :)   I can put it anywhere on my arm, and there is no extra arm poofing up around the band…  My arm doesn’t look like my overweight old maid great-aunt’s arm ANYMORE.

KEWL

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

I was rubbing my own shoulders this afternoon (*sigh*) and I noticed that I feel "smaller."  I know you guys want to get BIGGER there, but I definitely felt the absence of fat…  Noted it and promptly forgot about it (busy at work).

Now I"m home, I’ve done my workout (back and tris), and I’m standing in my daughter’s room, and as I’m walking out, I catch my profile in her mirror.  I see my shoulders, and my back… and notice how flat it is!!  KEWL!!  I want to take a picture!  I know, I get excited over little things, but all these little things keep me motivated.  I know I’ve been working hard on everywhere, and to see this improvement (in my eyes) really, really means something.  ;)

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled evening…

EEK, Monday already?

Monday, October 1st, 2007

I can see I’m going to have some problems… lol.  When Dave is home, I definitely eat more.  My honeybunch is one of those blessed people who has weighed the same since High School.  He eats whatever he wants, and never gains or loses weight.  Oh don’t get me wrong, he eats healthy, has a good attitude about food and works out, but he also eats ice cream every day, drinks two beers every night before he heads to bed, can eat pastry and hamburgers whenever he wants, and has bread every day.  He loves to cook and bake, and of course he loves his cooking and baking (so do I!!).  Which all adds up to difficulty sticking to my diet plan when he is home…  I’m just hoping when I get to my maintenance phase I can hold on and not gain!!!!

So my weight this morning was (don’t look!) 165.0   Not very good considering I weighed 160.0 last week!!!  I’m having NO trouble getting my workouts in, it’s just the eating…  argh.  So back to being strict again, hopefully I will get lower than 160.0 and when he comes back home again I will be stronger and we won’t have any special cooking plans!!

But on the other side, I measured myself and in the last 3 weeks I’ve lost a whole inch off my waist!!!  That is SUPER!!!! Plus a 1/2 inch off my hips.  That is cooler than what I weigh.

I’m ready to workout tonite!  Can’t wait!!

I entered my lifting stats, too.  I know the numbers aren’t very impressive, but they are to me, because they are waaay higher than the last time I lifted free weights at my house, which was about May or June.  So overall I am very pleased with where I am today, and I am only going to get better.

My friend Randy read me a quote this morning, I thought it was pretty good, I’m saving it:  Never discourage anyone who continually makes progress, no matter how slow.  Plato

Have a great day!!
