bi and tri training

had a little extra time today cause i didn’t have to go to work so i decided to take a little longer breaks between sets and really go heavy with the weights.  got some good weight up with close grip benching and also did pretty well with the dumbbell curls.  got a really nice pump in the arms.  finished the workout with some abs.  nothing fancy, just some russian twists and some leg lifts.  overall a solid workout.  tomorrow is a day off from lifting, but i’ll do some cardio.  monday is leg day.

thursday and friday training

hit the shoulders pretty hard yesterday using drop sets and other fun things like that.  did some smith machine military presses, front, side and rear delt raises along with some upright rows.  shoulders are feeling a little tight today.  did legs today to give the arms a rest and also because it was leg day anyway.  did some atg squats, got 235 for 10.  pretty good day for me.  i feel that the legs are getting stronger overall.  i haven’t measured them since the middle of may so i don’t know if they are growing.  i’ll measure again in the middle of august or so.  i think that not measuring for about 3 months will allow me to see the progress that i’ve made over the summer.  for now, i’m off to work.  tomorrow is bis and tris day.  one of my favorite days since i love the pump i get out of this workout.

a little cardio in the morning

took it easy today since i have jiu jitsu testing tonight.  did about 15-20 min of cardio in the form of running outside.  thought i’d kill two birds with one stone by getting the cardio in and catching a little sun.  came home and did some rubber band exercises for abs.  mainly twists and crunches and things like that.  got a good burn in the abs.  tomorrow is shoulder day.  should be fun.  i’m really trying to improve the delts as their size doesn’t measure up to the size of the tris and bis.

the week so far

the past two days have been the hardest for me seeing as they were chest and back day.  i’m really trying to push the chest hard in an attempt to get it to start growing faster than it is.  it’s the one body part that seems to be lagging behind.  if anyone has an idea of how i can get it to grow and develop faster please send me a pm or write a post.  did the usual things for my chest and back workouts and got a good pump.  didn’t deadlift super heavy today since i have jiu jitsu belt testing tomorrow and can’t have the back feeling too beat up.

nearign the end of a long week

for somereaosn this week has felt extra long for me.  i am not sure why.  the weights that i have been throwing up have been pretty good and some of my lifts have started to increase.  the progress is encouraging.  i’m hoping to rest up over the weekend to get ready for next week’s training.  have jiu jitsu belt testing on wednesday so i don’t want to lift  too hard and be super sore adn stiff for the test and then fail.  tomorrow is shoulders and arms.  i’m going to try and hit the shoulders pretty hard and just go real heavy for bis and tris to get a nice pump in them.

the rundown

came in feeling a little bit week in the shoulders today.  not the greatest when i want to run chest, but i guess its something i will live with.  did some kickboxing yesterday and that kind of killed the shoulders.  also had to do some padding for leg kicks so the legs were a little bit beat up from getting kicked over and over again.  chest/bis/tris went well today.  got 205 up for about 4.  didn’t have a spotter so i didn’t try to really push cause i didn’t feel like crashing and dying.  bis and tris were good.  did some skullcrushers, alternating curls, pushdowns and hammer curls.  went pretty heavy with those and tried to get a nice pump out of it.  tomorrow is back day, stoked for deadlifts.

overall update

i haven’t had too much time to do the bodyblog recently due to a pretty ridiculous working schedule.  i feel as though the body is improving.  have been working to bring up certain areas of the body, particularly the chest and the back.  the numbers on both are improving.  i am still trying to increase my bench both in terms of weight and in reps done.  i feel as though this is working.  in addition, i feel a little bit leaner and more cut up.  there is more visible definition in the chest and the abs as well as the arms and back.  i’ve been working on the abs and midsection with some kickboxing along with the normal cardio and ab exercises.  i have incorporated some new ab routines into the normal things that i do and i think that this is working.  in addition, i put the stepmill into my cardio program and feel as though this is really effective at both working my legs as well as burning fat.  i still use the elliptical because its good for keeping me in shape as well as burning fat.  that’s the update for now, more to come later.

chest improving

i tried to change up the chest routine today in the hope that the bench would go up.  i really want to be able to do 205 on up for reps without worrying about crashing out and dying.  got 195 for 7 today.  pretty good weight for me.  followed that up with incline dumbbell and bench presses along with a few cable crosses and decline hammer presses.  overall the workout went well and i was happy with the weight i lifted along with the pump i had at the end of the workout.  tomorrow is back day.  should be fun as usual, seeing as i love to deadlift.

i’m seeing some progress

as the summer progresses i am starting to see the weights go up a little faster.  pretty happy about this.  maxed the deadlift yesterday and pulled 305.  today the squat numbers went up as i did 245 for 10.  hoping to be able to dead over 350by the end of the summer and be able to squat 275 for reps by the end of the summer.  hopefully i’ll be able to accomplish these goals sooner than that, perhaps by the end of the month.  still battling some nagging aches and pains in teh wrist and the elbow, but it doesn’t seem to be messing with my performance a lot so that’s a good thing.  tomorrow is shoulders and arms, nothing like the full arm pump followed by a trip to the beach.

haven’t done this in a while

today was leg day and the day before was bis and tris.  both were good workouts.  i’m trying to up the squat and build the legs up mass wise.  bis and tris were a little difficult since i hurt my elbow/wrist while boxing and i get sharp pains up my arm when i move certain ways.  i don’t know exactly what movements trigger the pain though.  i’m currently trying to figure this out and get back to 100% health.
