Aahhh

June 1, 2008

So the sun is finally really out (most of the time) and I am loving it! My husband and I have been taking our bikes out every other day or so for an hour ride and enjoying the scenery of our small town. I just learned how to ride a bicycle in the last few weeks and my bum is sore, but otherwise it’s wonderful! I’ve been getting in a lot of exercise, and am seeing a dietician to help with my weight.

My workouts lately have been great and I"m actually seeing some difference in my flabby upper arms (yay!).

I had gained back up to 181 and my doctor told me she thought I was gluten intolerant. I went on a gf diet and lost 6 lbs in four days. I was amazed! With the aid of my dietician, I’ve lost another 5 and am back down to about 170. All this in the last month!

So I’m continuing a healthy diet, lots of exercise and most importantly, having a blast.

All is well! :-D

What a revelation

May 4, 2008

So I just headed outside an hour ago to ride my new bike and realized upon hopping on and falling off that I never really learned how to ride one…I feel really stupid right now.

As I was sitting on the ground next to my new purple monster, I was thinking about the times I’ve ridden a bicyle. 1. I had a trike until I was 8 (it was really big). 2. someone gave me a hand-me-down bike I rode a few times in the park when my mom would let me–last time I rode it I ran into a tree. 3. I rode a bike that was too big for me when I was about 11 or 12 and someone else riding a bike crashed into me–I went home with a sprained finger.

So I may have actually been on a bike 5-6 times in my entire life. I am petrified of trying to ride this thing but I’m going to learn. I may not become a Lance Armstrong, but I’m going to conquer this part of myself. :-)

Getting ready for the big start

May 3, 2008

The Ironman competion begins tomrrow-as I mentioned in my last post, I have to complete 112 bike miles, 2.6 swim miles and 26.2 miles of running–after reading the info again, I realize the last day to compete is May 23rd. I have never done anything like this and am really excited to get started!

I’m going out to a trail tomorrow to try out by new bike-it’s flat and about 4 mi long which should be good considering I haven’t ridden a bike in…12 years? lol.

I am embarking on an adventure!

Iron{wo}man

May 1, 2008

So there’s a contest going on at my school from May 4-27. They call it the "Ironman" and we’re supposed to run 26.2 miles, bike 112 and swim 2.6 miles over those 3 weeks. So I’m going to sign up and so what I can! We’ll see what will happen :-) . I’m really actually excited about it.

I’m getting a phone that has an mp3 player in it, so that should help with the running and biking!

Hmmm…

February 14, 2008

Well, I’ve gained about 3-4lb in the past two weeks, but I’ve been exercising a lot and my clothes are fitting better, so I’m assuming I’m just bulking up a bit? Hopefully that’s the peak before I start to slim down… I’ve been really hungry lately, but trying to at least eat more fruits and veggies, and less carbs (esp. sugar).

I"m getting stronger and my endurance is improving, so I know I"m doing something right. The thing is, I refuse to completely cut fun foods out of my diet, especially this time of year when fresh foods are out of season and I get seasonally depressed a bit. A fun food now and again keeps me feeling a bit more sane… I’m sure I need to work on that, and I will.

I’ve been drinking a ton of water, taking my multivite and trying to keep all the "bad foods" to a minimum.

Well, onward and upward!

YAY!

January 31, 2008

I tried on my goal outfit today-and it fits! Well, it fits but I still have a tummy pudge in it. It’s a green top with green Gasoline jeans that I bought because they were on an amazing sale, even though they didn’t fit. I’ve been staring at them since September!

Another month of hard work and I’ll be wearing it in public  :-D .

I’m so excited! I’m going to try to find my body tape so I can update my stats this weekend.

Peace

Time will tell

January 30, 2008

Last week I got in a fight with my workout partner. She has been inconsistant and whenever she ‘cant’ go work out with me, she discourages me from working out too. That’s the last thing I need!

School was shut down the past two days from snow so I haven’t been able to work out. I’m so ready to get back in there and kick some butt (my own, hehe)!

I had gained 4 lb over the holidays but am now back to my reported weight on here,I didn’t want to put the weight gain in, althought I should have.

I"m just glad to be back to that, and I know I can keep that number moving down if I keep going!

So it’s been a week…

January 15, 2008

Well, I started working out this week. I’ve done 3 workouts so far, and went to see the dr. about my knee.  Apparently, I’m knock-kneed. LOL.

So, I can’t do deep-squats, jumping, or deep leg presses. He also doesn’t want me to run downhill.

So, on I trek–next Friday I’m getting a work-out plan.

Welcome!
