Frustration
So, I thought my arm was doing better, but today at work I went to lift some boxes of what I would call a moderate weight and the pain in my left arm was fairly intense! Not so much that I screamed out or dropped the box, but pretty severe and enough to give me second thoughts about trying an upper body workout tonight. I guess I’m just going to have to give in and go see a doctor. Though I’m sure the recommendation will be to give the arm more rest.
It’s odd how the pain only comes when I’m lifting with the arm, not while I’m typing, writing, etc. Which still makes me wonder if the arm pain is a symptom and the real damage is elsewhere…
I’ve never had a serious injury from lifting before, so this whole experience is new to me and maybe why I just won’t admit that I may have an actual problem.
Oh well…

Hey, sorry to hear about the arm.
By all means, go see a doctor. But it might also be worth talking to a serious trainer at a gym, or a doctor that specializes in sports injuries, or check on the injuries forum here. I had an ankle injury once that didn’t heal for 2 months. Talked to a trainer at a gym, he gave me some advice, and it was healed in 2 weeks.

I’m sorry man. I hope it gets better soon.
Coincidentally, I just read a thing Ronnie Coleman wrote about injuries and bodybuilding. He said they happen to him all the time. It’s part of the deal. You are pushing your body to its limits, and sometimes you will go over the line. Plus, it takes going over the line a few times to be able to understand where the line is.
Of course that probably doesn’t make you feel better right now.
I also read (as I was researching my own little shoulder injury) that Dave Draper swears by working the non-injured side. Go to the gym and work just the other arm…
I don’t know if I agree 100% with either one of these statements, but it’s food for thought. (See I’m still talking about food!)
Get better soon.

Hmm… where again is the pain? Might be some nerve impingement that’s only happening when the neighboring muscle tissue is firing.

I am at the same crossroad with my shoulder and finally got it checked. I have to lay off of it until February but thats not gonna stop me from doing my HIT cardio, abs and legs. Hope that your arm is ok. Have it checked and give it a good rest. Keep me posted.

Unclever is right. A sports doctor may be best.

Rest will be the best, but check it out if it lingers. Had a shoulder injury once that took 2 weeks before I could workout using it again.
