SHUT UP AND LIFT

June 9, 2009

No offense to anyone, but one of the most annoying things you can deal with in the gym is someone who wants to conversate while you are lifting. You would think that the ipod and or the zune would be there to kinda block ilde conversations, but not for some people. I’m not saying that a little chatter here and there is not ok. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy joking sometimes with people I know. I just think that when I come to the gym, it’s my time to focus on my workout. I’m focusing on things like my exercise, sets, repititions, weight, movements and so…… O yeah and did I forget to mension my music. When I hit the gym I ready to overload my muscles with more resistance then my last workout. The only way I can do that is by shutting my mouth, lifting, and not open my mouth again until I’m ready to drink water. These are just some thoughts that I had on my mind. Good luck to all your bodyspace members….keep training hard.

NO PAIN, NO GAIN

June 1, 2009

When I lift heavy in the gym and I’m going hard, I know one thing is for certain, "THE PAIN IS COMING."  You know its one of those, work hard now and pay later type of things. The more technical phrase would be THE DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness). I love the blood pumps in the gym, it feels great. After the pumps in the gyms though, comes aches and pains that comes the with muscle growth. Its all apart of the growth process right. I guess I can consider Delayed onset muscles soreness to be an indication that the gains are coming. The greater the pain, the greater gains. When I break my muscles down with heavy weight my body’s going to repair the muscle tissues to be larger and stronger to handle more resistance the next time. This is why I’ve got do my part you know, consume my carbs, protein, and saturated fats and incorporate my days of recovery, so that my muscles can bounce back. So I’m convinced that "WHAT EVER DOESN’T KILL ME, CAN ONLY MAKE ME STRONGER"  NO PAIN, NO GAIN. I can use a little help with the abs though, so anybody out there that has tips on how cut up the abs, HOLLA AT ME.

Make it your lifestyle

May 30, 2009

I think if you focus to much on gaining results all the time it can cause a lot of frustration. I’m not saying that results are not important. We should go to them gym with goals that we want to reach and we should push ourselves as hard as we can so that we can reach them. I’ve had many struggles in the beginning, and felt like giving up many of times. There were times I felt like I was just spending my wheels and no results were coming. Then I came to this conclusion, if I commit to making this a lifestyle then results will have to follow. If I’m dieting properly, lifting heavy, and taking days off for recovery than the results will come. This is what I focus on when I getting ready to workout. I know that my results are coming because I want quit. I cant quit its apart of my life. I’m commited to lifting heavy, applying progressive overload, and a proper diet until I die. So there is no room for failure, the gains are coming….OH YEAH BABY THE GAINS ARE COMING. ITS GOT TO BE A LIFESTYLE, RESULTS WANT COME OVERNIGHT.

“THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS”

May 29, 2009

I think that I’ve finally come to realization that while doing any kind of weight resistance or cardio training, results can sometimes be very slow. There are no short cuts, you have to put in the time and hard work in order to get the results. It seems that in life with almost everything, people want quick results. People want to get it all quickly like wealth, marriage, career, relationships, cars and…etc. No one wants to have to labor, wait, or pay the price for these things. There is a price you have to be willing to pay when it comes to bodybuilding. In bodybuilding we sometimes make unhealthy comparisons when we look at someone who has a great physique and we wish we could have what they have. One question we to have ask ourselves is this, am I willing to pay the price that they paid. Am I willing to do what ever it takes to get the results I desire. The bottom line is this ,whether we have a ectomorph, mesomorph or endomorph body type it takes days, weeks, months, and even years to build the perfect body of your dreams. So lets remember that thougt when we load up our supplements, grab our gear and prepare to slay our muscles in the gym: RESULTS TAKE TIME… There are no shortcuts.
