LOL@ the porn star comment!

This week I just changed my routine to lift 5-6 reps per set, 4 sets per exercise with 3-4 exercises (will probably increase as time goes on). Your blog encouraged me that I'm on the right track. Thanks!

It is true that we live longer now, but people back then died primarily from the harshness of the environment (i.e. predators, famine, extreme weather, tribal warfare). Once agriculture became established, people lived longer because they had a stable food supply, but they also had less variety. They had a more stable supply of food (ie wheat, rice, pork, chicken, etc), but it was the same damn food cooked up in different ways. If you eat too much of the same food (particularly refined foods such as wheat products), then you develop allergies. So although you may live longer, your health is deteriorating over a large course of your life.

The instinct of feast or famine is still with us. Best evidence is shown by how overweight our society has become.

You are forgetting one thing. In Hunter Gatherer days, the average life span of the human male was under 30 years. Proper nutrition (esp protien and macros) consistently (combined of course with modern meds) is responsbile for that moving to our late 70's. There is still instinctual remnants in us all (fight of flight muscles) but I'm not sure feast and famine response is one of them! Best Rob

gurpreet,

It sounds like you want me to design an entire workout for you. There is a lot info on the web on bodyweight only routines, so I suggest you surf the web. you'll find something that works for you.
