Okay that totally counts as one!

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

So almost 2 weeks ago I started working again (different job) after a year off sick. Part time hours but it takes alot of getting used to. Trying to ration energy and such. So Tuesday I was off and thinking about going to the gym and gardening a bit (prepping the beds). That  morning I ran into the guy where we board the pony and long story short. Free Manure! shovel and go. So I’m sure by "no heavy lifting" my Dr didn’t mean to say "do not shovel and spread horse manure for 3 hours trying to beat a thunderstorm" totally different. So that totally counted as the arm/leg thing for Tuesday, no?

A bit off the eating bandwagon. could be cleaner but I’m making a comeback.

The Hubby: What’s wrong?

Me: Nothing just sitting here. (sitting in bed looking out the window)

The Hubby : Get any sleep?

Me : Not really. Having a wierd sense of deja vu though.

The Hubby: (Who, again is so totally used to this) That’s because we have the same conversation over and over, like Groudhog Day.*chuckles good naturedly* (which at this point is SO not funny..) Well try to have a good one.

Me: Thanks, you too. *sigh*

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Yes I actually look forward to having needles poked and left in for 20 minutes. I think it really helps with pain control. I had it a few years ago for a neck injury and it worked for that also. Today is chest, tri’s and abs and is DONE that’s right done! I noticed that my shape is starting to noticably firm up.Cardio and maybe some extra depending on how things go with the appt.

Meal 1: steel cut oats coffee.

Meal 2" post workout choc protein shake.

meal 3 : 1 tomato and 2 turkey pepperoni

Meal 4:  4 oz steak, 1/2 cup brown rice, 1.5 cups steamed broccoli

Meal 5:  apple with peanut butter,2 oz sausage (homemade)

acu went well, going to try to skip a week and see how things hold up.

A Conversation of Excuses

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Me to The Hubby: Mind if I go to bed early? I’m beat.

The Hubby (who knows I haven’t been sleeping) no problem be right in.  One hour later I’m still staring at the ceiling. Two hours.Three…must have drifted for a bit.four hours…

3 30 am..eff this noise &*%^%((&   gets outta bed. 5 30 hubby’s alarm

Me: made you breakfast and coffee

The Hubby: What r you doing up? You don’t have to get up for at least 2 more hours?

Me: *derisive snort* The word"up" begs the assumption that I was ever "down" I’m still up from yesterday. (and don’t I look fabulous let me tell you!) I’m not laying down now, I’ll just fall asleep and it will be time to get up again.

The Hubby (whose so totally used to this by now) Good coffee.

Me: yup. (we’re conversationalists, you see)

Well, time for carpool then the gym, yes the gym. Just gotta get myself through the door and I’ll be okay. Besides-nothing says a strong workout like 8 hours sleep in 50.

Stay tuned sleep fans…..

gym: took a total psych out to get there. took all my stuff when I drove The Kid the school so I went straight there. mentally kicking and screaming all the way. Other humans there this time. Not bad music, maybe I’m sound sensitive today but if I can hear it by the next building IT"S TOO LOUD! anyway. got it done, even got a few weight increases.

Hour 55 of sleepwatch 09: soon to be cardio time! /Stay tuned..

Hour 58 : cardio. dogwalking with L. 1.5 hours. (some strolling)

Hour : 64.5  Looking forward to my date with Dr Lorazepam. It’s time tonight.

What else happened you ask? Well, suffice to say that anyone who tells you that prarie dogs are cute and harmless has never gotten their foot caught in a HOLE while working with horses.(4500 combined pounds of horses to be exact) Oh yeah! the sudden movement of catching myself with the fence to avoid breaking my leg didn’t freak them out at all!!  Thankfully I didn’t break it (both vehicles are standards), just pulled the achilles tendon and twisted the foot fairly effectivly.

Well at least I got leg day in first…  :)

Doms,Doms,Doms,Doms…

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

Yup, no one wants it I’ve got it. after every workout. I look at it as different from the everyday pain of the FM though, because this pain actually has a reason and a cause. Although I suspect the FM symptoms like often not reaching stage 4 (REM, restorative) sleep, derailed prostaglandin metabolism, etc, make it worse. I wonder how that would affect muscle repair.Hmm. well, taking the casein protein about and hour before bed should help. Looking at the 3rd week of the vid trainer I might run into problems soon in that I may have to find sub’s for some exercises based on the equipment available at the gym here. I think honestly that changing gyms to somewhere that is a 45 min drive each way would be a detrement to The Plan.(ie: good excuse not to go and not financially possible with gas prices) So we’ll do what we can with what we’ve got.

Diet: Br: 2 eggs, 1/2 cup steel cut oats with apple in it. cinnamon (unsweetened)coffee,m&s

Meal 2: vanilla casein protein shake (made w/ water), 2tsp natural peanut butter on 1slice stone ground whole wheat bread. Organic black currant tea.

Meal 3: 2 oz turkey breast, mustard, lettuce in ancient grains wrap bread, 1.5 cups tomato soup (w/ water) 7 wheat crackers, unsweetened green tea.

Meal 4:  1/2 cup each 1% cottage cheese and fat free strawberry yogurt w/ 2tsp flax meal raspberry tea with stevia.

Meal 5: homemade cabbage soup with lean ham carrots,2 -2inch whole wheat bisquits, coffee m&s

Meal 6: vanilla casein protein shake. 10 almonds. black currant tea.

15 mins bike ride. The muscles just felt so depleted today. We had the curse of the snow fence. Take the fence down=snow. melted when it hit though.

April 19th

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Thursday was cardio with the dog.35 mins. Friday was leg day. ugh leg day! But I did it and felt good. Sat was cardio 15 mins then a dog stroll uptown  for another 25 mins. Today was windy and dreary so the FM acted up really badly. This morning I needed help to walk more than 10 steps.  :(

By evening it was a bit better so the dog and I went for a stroll up and down the street so I could stay close to home. Not ideal but I still feel good that I didn’t let it stop my completely. Still writing my meals in the food journal. Maybe I should write them in the blog too. we’ll see…
