I’m Back

February 3, 2008

After recovering from the flu and back at university. All that stood before was the walking into the gym. My first week in the gym was quite successful. my lifts are going good so far. Incline dumbbell press 80 pounders, close bench pressed 140lbs on a 45lb bar, squat 250lbs on a 45lb bar, deadlifted  400lbs on a 45lb bar , shrugged the 100lbs dumbbells, one arm rowed the 100lbs dumbbells and did wide grip pull up with 50lbs attached to my body.

Things are looking good so far.

Bodyspace has lost it’s way

December 19, 2007

It is almost a year joining bodyspace and I have learnt quite a few things. The information members shared with each other used to be very useful or motivational. Today, bodyspace is like the adult friend finder website that constantly pops up while innocently surfing the web. There are a few respectable fitness enthusiast on this site and  others are just here to eye rape the pics of various members.  The saddest day on the site is when a lady post pics of her breast and occupied the number one position of highest profile views for females. The other thing that bothers me is that those with the highest profile views don’t necessarily have the best physiques or the most inspirational stories.

I thought this site was about encouraging  beginners and those who have trouble staying motivated to weight lifting. I do not blame the creators of the site but the people who are slowing taking away the effectiveness and the reason the site was created in the first place. In my opinion, this site was created so one can structure a profile about their physical expectations and create long term goals that would be made possible with the helpful comments of mostly drug free average weight lifters who have similar goals or have achieved the desired goals.

Now the forums are somewhat helpful if you filter through the misinformations from big headed people who have their own ideologies about weight lifting, and find the useful information a few decent people provide. Some of the topic created by people makes me question the level of intellect some of the people on the site have. Most of the questions are outright dump and the persons who ask are actually serious.

I feel that there should be a part of the site that randomly selects a member or group of member so that others can comment on their physiques and comment on their training, diets or any other factor that can help them in life.

I believe their are people on this site with valuable information that is worth sharing by you will never get to know. Why?  This is because people are viewing the photo who have achieved impressive physiques already. I am not crying those who have built a nice body through hard work and dedication.

But tell me why is it on body space that fitness stars, bodybuilders , power lifters among other elites get more recognition that the average mortal. I think this defeats the whole purpose of the site. Tell me,would like more from a once skinny amateur bodybuilding or a collar tie guy with a great physique. I say the latter because like you he has a normal job, family and life and do not have the luxuries of an amateur bodybuilder you have a nutritionist, personal trainer and maybe some sponsorship and can train twice a day.

I’m getting tired maybe , I will add more to my inner thoughts latter.

Merry Christmas.

Earthquake in Barbados

November 30, 2007

I experienced my first earthquake yesterday.
It felt so unreal , it was like if the house was shaking and the floor wasn’t moving. From watching television , I realized that I was experiencing an earthquake. I told my cousin to stand under the door post or go under the table. The quake lasted for quite a while. After is finished , I had my identification card, passport and some money and was looking to flee my home. The quake had everyone in the country confused . I hope we never experienced anything like that again.

My conclusion

October 21, 2007

I have come to the conclusion after extensive research that I’m a easy-hard gainer. I have found an article on T-nation and it describes my body perfectly. I feel like such a fool instead of listening to my body like I use too. I listened to guys who preached about doing more volume. These guys had a good physique already.

I am quite strong and but the time I reach 8 reps I get fatigued. Its not that my muscles are tired but more due to the overuse of energy. I have come to the conclusion have have more fast twitch muscle fibers due to my low threshold for endurance or better yet lack of endurance.

I have long limbs and a short torso and the research suggest that I’m a easy-hard gainer. I gain muscle easily but I have a hard time keeping because of my fast metabolism. I always had shape and definition through my body. people always use to ask me if I was a runner or did some form of athletics.

With this data I research I will train my body accordingly. Even though i do a reasonable amount of sets my muscles often don’t feel fully taxed. I realized doing a weight where I failed at the fifth rep had a strong impact on my muscle that doing a weight that i could perform 8 to 10 reps.

My body was designed for power and speed and that is how I will train it. I will probable train in the 4 - 6 rep range and see how my muscles react. I am currently using the 6- 12 rep range and getting average results but i always feel that my rep range needed a little tweak along with my training style. Persons suck as Derek ‘‘The Beast’’ Charlebois,

I am starting a new chapter in my training and diet starting from today. I hope other will start listening to their bodies and people who  are in their shoes or people who have experience training people that are similar to you.

Untitled

September 20, 2007

Everything, I workout people are amazed by my strength. I have comments like , " For a small person , you are very strong." "What drugs are you taking", "Your girlfriend isn’t giving you ain’t", " You must be a Virgin." The list goes on.. I am small for my height but I have some degree of muscularity. If I didn’t would I be able to deadlift 350lbs on a 45lbs bar for 6 reps without straps using supps or every a multi, hell no. I was born with exceptional strength for my size. I can’t wait to get bigger because I will become a lot stronger. people are generally lazy or looking for an excuse for their flaws and weakness. If most people spend their time training instead of spreading negativity , there would a lot more impressive physiques in the world.

Accidents

September 20, 2007

My wrist and my entire hand seemed to be injured due to  lifting out 160lbs on the bar for bench press. The weight felt like it was absorbed by my hand and  my nerves were affected or something. I was barely able to deadlift  and when I went to do one arm rows I couldn’t hold no more that 80lbs in my injured right hand. My grip was very loose, to tell the truth my bare fingers where holding the weight. This was a major setback in my training. I am icing down my hand when ever I get the chance.

The Time Have Come Again

September 16, 2007

After 2 week of solitude , I have to begin my quest for a improve once again. The santuary where I perform my my muscle building devotions was closed for 2 weeks. The horror  of not being able to squat , deadlift or perform a pull-up was quite horrifying, but I held out. The day of celebration have manifested itself and I am willing to embrace it. My mind is clear, the journey is long , but the rewards are eternally sweet. I will be in paradise once more again.
