As many of you may have read in my status updates...my husband recently got orders to Afghanistan...yet again. He got out of active duty not too long ago and recently started his own orthopedic practice...and was reserves...but they activated him a month ago and his orders just came through yesterday. Right now dates are March to November 2013. I made it through this before, but my children were younger and didn't understand...My oldest is a junior in high school and will be going into her senior year, taking SAT's for college, college tours, driving lessons, license, senior year, applying for colleges... then I have my two little ones, who will be 9 and 7 while he is away, as my oldest turns 17. Many of you can't imagine what it's like to be a military family...I've lived through parents drug and alcohol addictions, beatings from them, medical school and the grueling hours of residency and working in the emergency department... I'm one strong woman but this will be my hardest time yet... I also have to worry about my husband losing his business...what medical practice can survive when the physician is gone for 8 months??? I am hoping that I won't have to work while he is gone so I can devote my time to my kids and my fitness goals(which means keeping me sane)... but may have to make some money... but military pays well when you are deployed. Doctors don't always make much money, as one may believe. I did manage a chest and abs and cardio workout today, but was mentally a struggle to get through it. But I do feel good I got it done. So if many of you don't get answers to PM's and comments right away, please understand I've got a lot to prepare my family for over the next few months...and trying to make every moment count w/husband and kids before he leaves. I know what needs to get done, and if you've gotten to know me at all on here...you know I get it done.
Thanks for all the support with the 2013 Spokesperson contest and just motivation, encouragement, inspiration, compliments...I get from all my friends on here.
