This blog entry is really for personal cataloging. These are the worst of times and in a few weeks there will be better times. School is really REALLY KILLING ME RIGHT NOW and MY JOB REQUIREMENTS ARE NO BETTER…R U SERIOUS 60 HOUR WORK WEEKS??? Did I really get a masters to work this many hours? I really have to hurry up with this doctorate so I can assign this work to somebody else.

Workouts?

Kind of null and void at least for two weeks or so….

Plan for when I get back….

EPIC plan by Joe Plavick

Bodyspace friends….

Everybody who puts up with my sporadic comments feedback and other things…I appreciate it…somehow I got to find a way to give thanks to eveybody who has stuck with me through this journey.

Last word….at least for tonight….

Happy lifitng folks….stay healthy…stay safe…live life to the fullest and I look forward to talking with you after exam time…

Peace out!

So this is coming on the end of April and there are several updates I got to provide for my community of friends on bodyspace:

1. 1st year of doctoral school is killing me..but at least I will have a short break in about three weeks.

2. I slowed down on the bodybuilding to pick up a former athletic activity (See the video on my main page ‘Phi Beta Sigma Stepping’. My fraternity brothers wanted to participate in an ole’ skool stepshow competition. That will be over this weekend (THANK GOD!)

3. It’s in the 80’s in Memphis…that means it’s time to get outside workout and swimming outside!!!!

4. My wife is 3.2 months pregnant!!! I always knew bodybuilding contributed to the swagger of good sex!

So, I am slowly but surely getting my swagger back..now I just gotta make sure I stay on this surf and don’t fall off.

Happy lifting folks!

Got blood in your urine???

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Yea, it sounds pretty gross. When I was in college, the first time, we used to do something called stepping in my fraternity. Not to brag, but we were pretty good…we literally we across the country from Philadelphia to Los Angeles and stepped in several contest and won thousands…yea like more than $10,000.So anyhow….all of these winnings did not come easily. We practiced every day like from 10pm to 2am everyday…we treated like a sport.

Anyhow, somedays…some of us would come back and be like did you have blood in your piss…and some of us would be like "yea"! This would be on days were we practiced really hard…

Fastforward about six years, and here I am today…haven’t stepped in about 7 years and have been into bodybuilding since then. These are two totally different lifestyles!!!!

Last practice and this one…I am revisiting this blood in urine, a condition known as hermautria?!?!?!? I think that’s right. Anyhow…just thougt I would share if you share the same experience from acivities that you participate in.

Peace out folks

Now I remember why I stop taking supplements…

Well, besides the normal shots of protein I have….this weekend I remembered the other reasons why I stop taking supplements. So, this really nice guy sent me some really nice products to test out, his name is Joe Plavik. I tested this drink mix called E2 Voltage and some more supplements callled 5-tetra by Epic Performance.

First I have to say that I am a complete dummy on the art of selectivity in which and when to use supplements. So, I taket eh 5-tetra per instructions and then consume the E2 a little later before my workouts this weekend. Overall, the products seemed to deliver, hopefully it wasn’t placebo effect, quite well. During the workouts I seemed to have more energy and pushed out just a couple of more reps than my normal. Today I even bust a plateu that I was at for a while!!!! So, I think that these products are great….But….yea…you know there had to be a but.

When I use to take supplements such as Hydroxycut and NO Explode and Size On, they all had weird side effects like making jittery for the rest of the day or gas or something weird like that. Ummmm….I don’t like side effects….so how would I get rid of them? Don’t take them!!!!

Right now I am so amped that I think I can go to the gym, like now, and hit a leg routine TOUGH!!!! I should not be this jittery right now.

Anyhow, lessons are learned in time….I now remember why I stop taking supplements…besides protein of course.

Please note that my side effects are most likely uncommon for most people, just look around the web and you will see the wonders some products have done for people. But as for me and my body, we will be on the protein only side! LOL!!!!!

Happy lifting folks!

Things I wish I known…when I started lifting weights

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

dnsigma

It has almost been five years now since I started this weightlifting lifestyle. From the pictures, you can see that I have had some ups and many downs;overall, I have, at the least, just been able to maintain. Today,I’m off work(GO CATHOLICS SCHOOLS!!!) and was just sitting around thinking about some things…like things I wish I would have known when I started lifting weights…here are some for your amusement.

1. Supplements won’t make me bigger only the work I put into weightlifting with minor help from them will.

2. Gyms everywhere are full of idiots who are constantly showboating (Please see my blogs titled Perdon….gym etiquette). These idiots can cause you to lose focus.

3. Learning how to focus in on muscle groups is key for development.

4. To get big and literally be big….you have to eat big.

5. Cardio alone will not be your saving grace if you want to look big and be lean.

6. Soul food is not allowed in any bodybuilding diet! LOL!!!!

7. Going to the gym every single day is not necessarily a good thing and not necessarily a bad one. Carefully planning alternating routines is the key.

8. Go heavy or go home is the mantra only sometimes and not all the time.

9. How much you can bench press is not as important as how much you can squat. (In my personal opinion)

10. Bodybuilding is a lifestyle…not something you do for a month or a season but a lifetime.

If you have some others to add…I would love to hear your thoughts. Happy lifting folks!
