Authoring your life…..

dnsigma

People sometimes fail to realize the power of them being able to author their own lives. Some believe that fate has it’s place and that their life can not be scripted by their choices. I, on the other hand, beleive that we all can be the authors of our life…scripting future moments by the things we do today. So, how does all this translate to bodybuilding?

Well, history will tell us ( Which seems to be a major predictor in most things of life) that we will often times inherit the ills and of our families in some form or fashion. This does not exclude health habits and possibly looks. Well, I have seen my family….some look great and others?!?!?!?!? Well, they probably did not make the best choices during their earlier years!

Some people think that it is insane to have a lifestyle of working out and trying to stay fit. Some people life because they believe we are crazy…and we turn around a laugh at them because we think they are nuts. It’s kind of like that says "You laugh because I’m different, I laugh because you all are the same."

So, as we approach the end of the old and prepare for the new. I just wanted to write a message of hope and encourage everyone to keep on keeping on. From personal experience my journey has not been short lived at all…in many instances

  1. I have not made the same progression as many others on this site,
  2.  I don’t have as much money to purchase as many supplements as others
  3. and my job and sometimes jobs require me to be out of the gym more so than in the gym.
  4. Food (I’m really being serious) is a BIG weakness for me….especially soul food.
  5. Going to school, working and family is strenous enough.

So, I like many of you have a set of challenges that face me in this journey. But, getting on this site, getting encouragement exchanging ideas… and seeing people’s funny comments keeps me encourage and ultimately keeps me in the positive spirit of authoring my life. So, thanks everybody…I will consider this my Christmas present from all of you….hhmmmmmm not the problem is trying to figure out how I can return the favor?!?!?!?!!?

Happy lifting!!!!

Good post M E. I also have limited budget (wife is stay at home mom & homeschooler), & share the weakness on the food side.

My parents provide motivation for me. They’ve both passed, but the last 10 yrs of their lives were low quality due to declining health. And I see their lifestyles are huge contributors of things they suffered from: obesity heart trouble, high blood pressure, both were Type II diabetics, dementia/alzheimers. Both ate poorly, didn’t exercise, & didn’t stay mentally active. NOT THE PATH I WANT AS I GET OLDER….

I liked this post. I believe in the same about authoring our own lives….with a few uncontrollable curve balls thrown in of course.

This place helps me to stay motivated. And people’s funny comments are probably one of the best parts of this site.

M E. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with all of us. I would like to assure you that you are not alone. I have gained almost 70# in the past 3.5 years. But I had my set backs as well. I injured my lower back and did not work out for 8 months. My job is very demanding and sometimes it is hard to find the time and the mental focus. But I re-gain my motivation from my partner and from people on this site. Set your bar very high and do not ever doubt you!
    Good luck.

Well, I can’t blog anymore so I can’t do my own ‘authoring your life’ like you, but agree with you fully. Being in mexico visiting family, still going to the gym regularly, I have many asking me why I go. They keep questioning me like Im stupid for going, and then they feed me more and more and I can’t eat like them! Then one says ‘2 weeks without the gym ain’t going to hurt you’ and I laughed. Umm, 2 weeks, no gym, in mexico eatin mexican. Yeah, its gonna do its damage. Then I had another tell me I come from good genes. I asked, ‘what part?’ Definitely not for muscle building. But as always, I don’t do this for them. I do this for me. My life, my body.

I think its so easy to get content with your circumstances. When we get comfortable we get relaxed. Food has always been a big thing in my family, and it became a stress reliever. Now I am trying to break the curse if you will. Be an example to them so they will change from what I know is a destructive path.

Good blog. And I stay on this site so i can get encouragement DAILY!!!
