The Gym and The Gas

dnsigma

So, across the country gas is becoming more and more eligible as a category on the loan list at banks. With this in mind, I am thinking of hitting the gym less and spending more time. What’s the conflict? I have been reading that no more than 45min to an hour should be spent in the gym. Should I keep that same time frame? or is it ok to do about 1.5 hours since I will be going only 3 times a week now? Help me out folks.

If your gym isn’t within 3 miles (or a negligible driving distance for your rate of gas consumption), then go ahead and do the 1.5 hours. You might want to add a during workout shake to your routine just to stave off any excess muscle catabolism.

1.5 hours isn’t that ridiculous but does reducing your training volume to 3 days really increase the amount of time that much?

I think time really isn’t the issue as long as the workload is the same. I would double up on bodyparts rather than working on one bodypart for a longer time. I know people that do full body workouts three times a week and it works out fine for them. It may be trial and error for a couple of weeks.
