My heart rate is 55 on avg.
So, I was thinking today how a nurse, not my wife, told me that "If you ever go to the doctor, make sure you tell them about your blood pressure…because it’s really low". Okay so it freaked me out, am I swimming to much? I am 6 ft 215lbs….I need to take a survey…does anyone else have such a heart rate with comparable statistics? If so, this would make me feel a lot better!

Is that when you wake up in the morning? Or when your running or what. Lance armstrong has a hr similiar to that.

My dad has had HIGH blood pressure for years, yet his resting heart rate is around 42. I don’t think that is common, but apparently heart rate doesn’t always indicate blood pressure. If you’re very worried about it, I’d go get it checked out just to be safe.

That’s a "sitting in the office" mid-day heart rate.

it could mean 2 things 1. you are very fit cardiovascular wise meaning you have a high stoke volume: that means your heart is so strong your heart pumps more blood with each contraction cutting BPM 15-25% 2. Medically it Low HR can be caused by may things like coronary artery disease, electrolyte inbalance, or heart medications just to name a few. Still go and get it checked out because there have been a couple of athlets who have died becuase of enlarged hearts and did not even know it.
