So, I was thinking today how a nurse, not my wife, told me that "If you ever go to the doctor, make sure you tell them about your blood pressure…because it’s really low". Okay so it freaked me out, am I swimming to much? I am 6 ft 215lbs….I need to take a survey…does anyone else have such a heart rate with comparable statistics? If so, this would make me feel a lot better!

Tongiht, I took this motto to the gym with me. As I walked in the gym I saw guys on the level I wanted to be at and then there where those who were just clueless about properly lifitng weight (i.e. The 17 year old trying to lift about 425 lbs on a front bench press, yelling in the gym, and only moving the bar about an inch forward and an inch backwards!!!).
Anyhow,me and my fraternity brother and my wife got our work out on. She hit cardio while we hit the weights. Tonight, we did back exercises and I adopted a routine from Hola Bola’s profile. Basically we started with some wide-grip chin ups, then some weighted ones.
Next
Barbell Rows
Next
Nautilas machine one-arm row
Next
Negative Chin Ups
Next
One arm negative cable pulls
Next
Dumbell Flys
Then we called it quits! Only a few days until my cruise…Peace.

This line, was made famous by Langston Hughes. Today, many people bring his poetry to life, which is evident by blogs on this site. The other day, I was reading the blog of a member ace0073, in particular, but also those of members who are in their 50’s …women who are on a quest to get in shape not only for their spouses or family, but more importantly themselves. I have also come across the blog of many young men, who are grossly overweight, for their age and look to this site for innovative knowledge and constant encouragement. For some, their dreams may have been deferred to later times…you might not have met that particular goal of losing so many lbs by a certain date, or squat a certain poundage by a contest date or like me constantly struggling to make it to the gym , on a consistent basis.
For many of us….our dreams, in a sense, may have been deferred. But, thanks to the hundreds of you on this site who provide information, references, simple pictures and sometimes a "Thnx for the add" help our dreams to be not so deferred. Thanks bodyspace members!

So, this weekend I did a big no no. I did work the same body part back to back. On Saturday, my workout partner did not come so I did my back and biceps. Today he did come and we did shoulders, biceps and triceps. It was pretty good work out…I was sweating like crazy by the end. I think next week we will start going lighter. By the way…I must be gaining strength because I shrug 100lb dumbells for 10 reps with ease!!!! That’s a big improvement from this year last time. Peace out!

(8:30PM) You know…my religion has always taught me that the blessings that the Lord has for you will come in different forms and fashions and you will never really know what the future may hold for you. Today, I realized that my move back to Memphis, although I did not plan to move back this early, was just another blessing in disguise. Now, let me tell you why:
1. For those who have read my blog entries over the last few years, know that I have desperately been seeking a gym partner to push me past my limits. Guess what? Move back to Memphis and the fraternity brother that inspired me to lift weights? Is now my training partner!
2. Time was a big issue for me…waking up at 4:30AM to fit a workout into my busy day. Now, I belong to 24 hour fitness and can go workout whenever I want!
3. More and more people here on bodyspace are continously encouraging and supporting! Two people in particular are JareubaT and Dieseldru!!! Man…just awesome…awesome I tell….
Ask and ye shall receive
Seek and ye shall find,
Knock and the door shall be opened unto you.
Peace and blessings everyone…stay motivated. By the way…today? We killed our chest…tommorow more cardio….friday Back/Shoulders.

(6:00PM) Yes people I have, once again, gotten my self lost from the gym for some time now. For those who have not read this blog I have moved back to the M-town that would be Memphis,TN my hometown. It took me a minute to find a gym that I could go to and that would have everything I needed, without a contract. 24 hour fitness baby!!!! So, today I, along with my fraternity brother, hit the gym and started on making sure those wheels were right!!!! That would be LEGS!!!!!! for those who don’t know the lingo. I must say that we almost killed ourselves with smith squats, hacksquats, stiff-leg deadlifts, calf raises (3 different kinds) and a gruesome ab workout. When I left? I felt awesome…when he left, he was exhausted. I said you coming back? he said "Hell yea!"….Now that’s what I’m talk about!
Bodybuilding during lent
So, I am Catholic and have been for quite some time. Every year during the season of lent, we give up something that we really love in order to help us centralize and bring closer to home the things Jesus did for us while on this earth. It’s more of a rememberance and reflection activity for 40 days and nights. My thing is…I would like to give up something for lent….but would like to get some suggestions from bodyspace members as to what we be really good in helping me continue to do well in bodybuilding. Is it fast food, candy, alcohol? Help me out! Thanks for the suggestions in advance, and I am glad to be back to the fitness world!
