Many people here on bodyspace never do realize how fortunate they are. We complain at times about our energy, our failures in weight gain or loss or the complexity of our lives in general.
But, truely we don’t have much to complain about in comparison to kids who are born prematurely. One of the great causes I volunteer for through my fraternity and through personal experiences of loved ones is The March of Dimes.
Many people don’t realize that The March of Dimes was started by President Roosevelt, who was stricken with polio. Our organization sought out to cure the disease the fundraising efforts such as, people sending their dimes to the whitehouse to support research. As a result of people like you, the cure for polio was found!
Today, our focus has broadened to focus on prematurity which affects all races, creeds, religion, and sexes. To make this short, because of the March of Dimes anyone born after 1967 is alive because of research that was funded through the March of Dimes. Through these grants they developed test that are given to all newborns to test for crippling diseases and illness, that if detected early enough, can be fixed.
Many kids who live past the first year still have tremendous battles throughout their life such as blindness, mental retardation and hearing loss.
Today, I would like to ask all of you to think about the ones you love and their future. Many times people think about giving but never really do it. If not now, when?
If you would like to help me in sponsoring future research to cure illnesses that stricken our future, please go to the following march of dimes website to donate: http://www.walkamerica.org/satapp . The site is secure and you may contact your local March of Dimes for verification of this on-line method.
For more infomation on The March of Dimes please visit the following website:

Thanks in advance heroes for doing the kids a favor and being a life saver!

Recently, I took this on-line survey to see "What Disney character I am like the most?". Okay, I know it sounds a little on the female side;but I use to work at Walt Disney World and so I am kind of close to it. Anyhow, I am about 98% like Peter Pan, which mainly means….if it’s nice outside? I will almost die if I do go outside and do something for long periods. Yea, this sounds like some issue….but I like it.
Relevance
This all has relavance because I was riding through some trails on Friday, when bodyspace was tripping and not working, and when through all kinds of trails and hidden tracks. After I came to my senses, as it was getting dark, I realized I had clocked about 18 miles or so. That was a good and a bad thing.
Anyway, now I can see that I have some new cardio to do…BIKING!!!!! Until I write again….
Stay safe, stay focused and most importantly stay working out. Peace out!

During my short time lifting weights, there has always been tons of question about the all mystifying cardio. To focus that a little more, the questions have been "On training days, Cardio before? or Cardio after?". Truthfully, I have read so many articles, stories and books that I am not sure if there is one magical answer for this activity that seems to always mystifiy people.
This is what I know. I do know that to each is one and that it is good to take the advice of others who have acheived in the areas you which to do the same. However, as the proverb says, "Don’t set sail on someone else’s star". Translation….do what works for you!
Example, back in grad school I would work out in the morning, eat tons of meat and then swim and night. This was only if class work was not stressing me out or had me studying. That plan seemed to have me way more ripped that my current plan of alternating cardio!!!!
So, use the boards wisely, use the advice wisely. Feel free to ask people what a sample routine may look like….but specifics will not necessarily be beneficial.
That’s my advice for today…I hope it helps for everyone, new and old, that are just beginning. Please feel free to leave your comments on this subject on my page.

(5:45AM) Sleepy head bobbles around his apartment trying to find some water and his clothes.
(5:50AM) Now hydrated, wants to go back to sleep with clothes on.
(5:55AM) Cranks up the IPOD and listens to the melodic tunes of Rick Ross and others.
(6:00AM) Dusted the dirt off my shoulder and went to work in the gym.
Today was a Abs and Arms day….I did push it to the limit because I sweating like I ran 5 or 6 miles by the time I finished.
Lesson reflected on today? Before shooting, one must aim. - African Proverb

This morning I woke up at 5:20am by mistake. Since I was sleepy and not really in my right mind…I put on my gym clothes and got back in the bed!!!!! Annnnddd exactly as you may be thinking, I need to get it together!!! Luckily, I woke up again at 6:00am and sleep walked over to the gym. I got busy on a good back workout, with minor abs.
Now, I am sitting at work sleepy as ever….I think the two jobs is catching up on me. Luckily, the wedding will be here soon and I can then get back to getting more sleep and spending more time in the gym. Peace out folks.

The title has nothing to do with the blog…just a shamless plug to get more people to my page and hopefully meet some new friends.
So, today I was back with some swimming that made my pulse rate sky rocket!!! Lately I have also increased my protein intake to about 207 plus meals. What else..that’s it so far as bodybuilding.
Did I ever mentioned that I am catholic? But was raised around a baptist family? Yea, interesting. Also, I am from the city of churches A.K.A. Memphis,TN. This is all important because one of the most influential leaders Bishop G.E. Patterson, of C.O.G.I.C. has died!!! This is huge…I can’t wait to hear about the services…
Interestingly, this brought to think about life and bodybuilding….do what you can, while you can, because God’s gift of life will never stop suprising for the good and (what some may think) the bad. Until I write again people…stay motivated!!!!!

Front Raises
Side Raises
Shrugs
Machine Shrugs
Machine Raises (side)
Shoulder Press
Later today, I hope to get the chance to swim.

So this morning I clocked in promptly at 6:00AM and got to working on my abs. After a few sets, I moved into my arm routine and worked on that for about 40 to 45 minutes. After that, I was really wondering if I could take my arms off for a while….just until they stopped hurting and then put them back on.
Luckily they are feeling much better now. I guess I may have strecthed them a little bit more since this morning.
This afternoon, more serenity in the aqua world…swimming that is.
More picture updates and a weigh in coming soon, although I don’t believe much has changed…I’ll let you all be the judge of that.
Peace!

Obviously I lost my way to the gym for the last seven days….Why??? Because I was in the hometown hanging out with my fiance for a majority of the time…the rest was spent trying to balance two jobs and ohhh life. Anywho…I am back and this morning I started of with….*Drumroll please*……………LEGS!!!!
The only problem is that the awesome delictables of Brownie sundae, fried shrimp, chicken fingers, fries and other good cheats kind of had me running a little worn. Nevertheless, I did find my way back to the gym and that counts.
How many more days to spring? Only a few!!! I got to get on it and stay on it. So, back to work it is!
Until I write again….

16 laps in about 8 minutes or so… Until I write again.

This morning I punched the clock at the gym for 5:59AM and began my workout promptly at 6AM. Workout choice for the day? Backs and Upper Chest!!! After completing the necessary work of making sure that several pieces of weights in the gym got their daily dose of air time…I headed home.
I then looked at some of my older pictures. Although I haven’t noticed many gains…my camera has!!! These were delightful Kodak moments to see…just take a look at the progress to see my up and down battle with cookies, sweets and good ‘ole Memphis soul food.
Later today, I will hit the pool for an afternoon swim (Only 1/2 a mile) that I have been anticipating for quite some time.

So, today while looking through the bodyspace site…I noticed people profiles and stats seemed a little off balance. For instance, their are people that look my size but have like huge waist, huge chest and huge legs and really huge calves! I, being the amateur I am, probably just don’t understand the dynmaics of the physical attributes of a true bodybuilder. Then, on the other hand, I could be exactly right and have spotted some fake people on the site!!!! If the later is true…..I must say that they are what I call tragedies….just utter tragedies!!!!!
Anyway, enough of that. The good news is that I once again press the mess out of my legs and calves. Although they feel as if nitoglycerin have been inserted in them. But, in the immortal words of James Brown "I feel good! daunt daunt so good!". Alright folks, get out to those gyms, basments, workout rooms or what have you and get the job done this week. Until I write again!!!

As the days go along of me on my quest to get into better shape. My dress shirts that I have to wear to work are not adjusting to my new lifestyle. The other day, I simply flexed my arm and my shirt tore at the elbow! This morning, I am getting ready for work, I attempt to button my shirt around my neck and have to struggle to get it done….okay this is not cute at all. First of all, the finances at this point do not allow for new shirts! Secondly, I am sitting here feeling as if someone has a strong clasp around my neck and I still have 7 more hours to go before they will release it!!!!!
Whatever, I guess I just have to get over it. Signs of progress don’t come easy.
In other news, the IPOD woke me up this morning as I sleep walked to the gym. Legs, once again, was the workout of choice this morning.
Until I write again folks….stay up.

Okay so yesterday I weighed in again and found myself coming in at a whopping 202 or something like that. I’m not exactly sure what’s going on and can’t imagine that my clothes are 7lbs; but anything is possible!!!!
In other news, I FOUND MY IPOD HEADPHONES!!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!
This morning my bicep and tricep workout was much easier with music motivating me right along. So, I am back in the swing of things for now….hopefully my weight will stop swinging.
Jareuba and others who provided me with the comment about swimming????? Man….I’m telling you….I am like crack head with no crack, okay no so good allusion, BUT I WANT TO SWIM SOOOOO BBBAAADDDDDD!!!!!!
But, I will hold out….just like you guys told me to and see what happens.
Lastly, people can you please try to keep your photos semi-decent? I am not to fond of seeing people using their hands, a ball, pen, stick, towel, tie, shirt or anything else to cover up their gonads! I’m sorry it just seems a little ackward to me. Besides that…I’ll be happy to be your friend on bodyspace!
Okay back to the office for another 8 hours of work. Peace out folks!!

This is a picture of how I felt this morning…just really low on fuel…no energy…no food…no real drive??? What is wrong? Maybe my body was resisting the fact that I got up at 5:30 this morning and prepared to workout. This is in direct contrast to what I have been doing the last few days of sleeping until about 7:00 and getting ready for work. But then it maybe thatI don’t have earphones for my IPOD!!!!!!!!!!
I am seriously upset that I cannot find my earphones! Some may say…just go and by some more…then I would say hmmm…..if it was that simple….I think I would have gotten them by now. Anyhow, I did complete a shoulder workout today and I plan on supplementing that this evening or during my lunch break. We will see how it goes.
Tommorrow? Is a new day…hopefully my body will not be as upset as it was this morning and we can get back to our job of allowing the weights in the gym get some airtime!!!! By lifting them as much as we can (LOL).
Once again, thanks folks for your criticism, comments, and compliments. They are all well appreciated and truly do help me to stay motivated.
Hey! This man’s at work. Holla back!

I just wanted to put it out there that I am continually motivated by other people’s progress. For example, I just finish checking the website of nyce1ne. Maaaannnn….I think that workout would have killed me. I won’t know for sure though until I try it!!! Of course I will modify for me….but an all out attempt will be made to push it to the limits.
Holla back.

Today, I said "Self?!?!?!? Are you serious about this?" and I responded by saying "Hell yea!!!". So I got myself together and went to the gym. This was a leg day. One where I set my legs on fire!!!!
- I thought I did pretty well sqauting 270 for about 2 sets 10 time a piece and then for the last set 290.
- The most impressive accomplishment was leg pressing 380 for 2 sets 10 times and then 5 times on the last set.
- All of these sets were done as supersets, in which, leg curls and leg extensions(both and single leg) were incorporated.
Let me tell you folks…it felt like a fire ant bit me 50 times in each leg!!!!!!!
Next, I moved on to the calves. Unfortunately my are the size o tootsie rolls! At least in my mind they are. After that I moved on to abs…the usual was accomplished:
- Hanging Leg Lifts, followed by the weighted ab crunch machine, followed by ab crunches on a decline bench with 30lbs, followed by dumbell side bends and wrapped up with leg lifts. (X3)
Was this a day of rest? Most definetly not!!! But its all worth it in the end. Today, this man was truely at work! Holla back!

Ask and you shall receive… I should have known that if I posted the question, people were going to tell me the sad reality of me having to stop swimming to pack on some weight. So, I have been pondering about this all day and tried to put my goals in order….my love for swimming, weight gain, swimming, weight gain. I have to say that as of 5:37PM today…. WEIGHT GAIN has overruled swimming for now. So mote it be.
Workout for the day
Back and Chest
Thanks folks for the help yall are like semi-life coaches…it’s awesome!!!
Until next time.
