Because I am black and from the south….

A point of personal pride if you will…

I am from the South, I am black, I have a large family, most(98.2%) are very characteristic the black image. Yes, most us are from the hood. Anyhow no pity is needed because I am proud of it; this was solely for purposes of setting a background for this dillemma.

To live stonger…..big goal for me!!!!

Cooking, esepecially soul food….an innate and uncompromising characterstic for me!!!!!

Do you see my problem???? Because I do….EVERYTIME I COOK!!!!

Does anyone know of a SoulBuilding book that talks about healthy soul food to eat(LOL)??…you know what? Just to think about it…Blacks never did intend for any of the food to have good nutrition just to comfort the soul and therein my problem lies.

Someone out there, one of the food nutrition experts, should find some kind of good nutritional value in this stuff so I can eat more of it….please!!!!!!

So…yesterday’s prayer seems like it worked! God is awesome indeed!!! Thanks everyone for the advice that you sent me on yesterday. It seems like for the most part that I need to shut up and keep it movin. Thanks people, I got ya’ and I will commence to work on that immediately(I am totally serious). Ya’ know sometimes it’s good to hear this type of advice from others. In a since, it kind of makes ya’ feel more compelled to do it?!?! Anyhow, yestersday workout??

Swimming

I think I swam another mile or so yesterday. Many times, I am in another world while swimming, so after I count to the 36th lap I just let my mind wonder about things like sex, math problems, current world issues, the doc program I am trying to get….just random things. Then comes the realization,***HELLO SIR, THIS IS YOUR BODY AND IF WE DON’T STOP SOON YOU WILL BE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS 15FT POOL!!!****and I get out of the pool.

Chest

Flyes - 4 sets progressive weight

Vertical Chest - 4 sets progressive weight

Abs
Weighted Crunches - 5 sets?

Hanging Leg Raises - 5 sets?

Knee ups - 5 sets

Twist - 2 sets

Okay, I know folks are going to be like…that was a suck ass workout. That’s cause I am a suck ass person. I promise I will be improving this as soon as possible. Today’s training????Something along the lines of Arms and _____________. I think I will peruse the site to find some good workouts. Hmmmm…… a journal of this info. would be in order so that I can share with others….that will be coming up soon.

Stop feeding me…

This is totally random…but today I decided to visit some other BodySpace profiles. Not that this is the purpose for this site or anything but Ruggedlifter? has some funny videos on his site. Also, Scooby1961 has some informative information and pretty inspirational too. I think mainly because he is an older gentlemen with a lot of determination and obvious strength. So….what is the plan for today???

First, since I work in an office of Higher Education administrators the pastime seems to be EATING!!!! Everyday eat eat eat…don’t get me wrong the food is awesome! But, it is so hard to resist the urge when there is so much good free food around! This morning the one of the top men on campus called me over to the office to share in a potluck they brought for the area. ***In my head**** Lord, please allow me to focus and gather as much strength as possible to workout so that I can one day be fit.Amen. Soon after I commence to eating….not a lot but some definite no no’s  were in place.

So….bodybuilders…bodyspace members (IDOIT4ME),(CUBANCHINGON),(FUNKYB5150),(RUGG
ERLIFTER) how do ya’ do it?

Wednesday Compromise

If anyone checks this out before 4:00PM (CST), I would like to see if you have a good workout that I should try to perform. Any suggestions are welcomed. Peace out folks!

Swimming for lamies

I found out today, from Scobby1961, that more cardio is necessary for me to ‘look’ ripped. So mote it be with about 2 miles of swimming. On the agenda for Wednesday Chest and….something else…help me out people we’re all in this together.

 OK….OK…. I felt bad…so I added the following to my workout:

 Legs:

Squats: 4 sets progressive as each set goes

Leg Curls: 4 sets progressive as each set goes

Sitting Leg lifts: 4 sets progressive as each set goes

Seated Sqauts: 4 sets progressive as each set goes

So, now I am planning on trying to hone in on the skills to get a nice looking body, like many of the people on this site. My only problem? Work and surronded by a bunch of bad habits.Everyday, when I come to work, my co-workers have snacks and sweets and all these other foods that I know I am not suppose to eat.

 Luckily, I combat this 95% of the time by not participating. However when that 5% comes around, I try to play in the gym hard!!!!! With all of that being said.. I hope to begin recording my trainings to share with others; in dire hopes of getting some necesary feedback to become more defined. So mote it be…

 

Monday

Cardio:

Swimming: 36 Laps 16,16, Hard 4

Abdominals:

Leg lifts: 4 sets @ 10 straight leg 5 knee ups

Weighted crunches: 4 sets @ 120lb

Twist: 4 sets @ As many as possible in a minute
