I am seriously of becoming a trainer, I am looking at an AFAA certification, so I am hoping some of you folks can give me some input. First of all I have thought of this before and it was suggested to me by a trainer that runs a local fitness center that I sometimes go to when my college gym is closed. Granted she did not say she would hire me but did say I have a lot to offer because of my age and my heart history (a good point with my baby boomer crowd).
Now I have worked with a number of different trainers over the years and have gained much knowledge from them, but mostly lifting movements, form , technique, stretching and control
But I know there is much more to learn. It seems I am always being asked by someone for assistance or help on certain body parts, and tell them I am NOT certified but will show them what I have learned over the years. But I do enjoy helping others out, heck a lot of people have helped me. I get a satisfied feeling seeing someone putting a movement into their routine that I showed them especialy when I think they do it better than me.
So here are my reasons:
1) I enjoy working with people
2) I have a good knowledge of exercises
3) I love working out
4) I bring to the table a first hand knowledge of what can be done with certain heart issues
5) The time may be right since we have sold the dairy herd
6) My bride says I have to bring in some more income because of number 5 ha ha
So it would be great if I could get some input back. Thanks
