Well finally decided to try to gain. Didn’t want to drop below 170lbs, just a mental thing. Want to add 8 - 10 lbs of lean muscle. So I’m going to go on a 10 week cycle to try and add the weight. Increaseing my calories and changeing up my lifting routine. Breaking the body parts into 3 groups, and lift heavy every fifth day. Going to target 3000 calories a day, protein at 1.5gr per lb. Carbs I’m focusing on complex ones, and minimizing the simple ones. Good bye soft drinks, fries, pizza and chocolate, I’m going to be hateing myself for a while, but it will be worth it when I hit my targets.
My main concern is overtraining, I have been very prone to get sick if I puch too hard, so I will have to keep the nutrients up and really try to get quality sleep every night.
So any questions or comments are always welcome, still trying to learn all this stuff, it seems to never end.
Until the next time.
This blog is mainly a way for me to track myself, and maybe give others in my age group a little insite, that may help them.

I’m running a little behind my goals for the summer, a 2 week stint with Brochiatis, put me behind. But still striveing forward. Plan on starting a new routine a target from 8/9, I go for my 6 month check up on 8/8 and if all is well then time to try and push forward an gain some weight, in hopes of keeping the waist as trim as I can. This healthy habits thing is turning into a job.
So I’ll be starting a blog witht he new routine just to help me stay organized and to give my friends something to read and chuckle about.

Alright its crunch time, 4 weeks until its summer, still need to lose about 5 lbs, I feel like I have had a succesful winter, so its time to see. I’m 8 lbs heavier than I was in October and still have the most of my definition in my midsection, so now it will be safe to cut a little more form the old belly. So I’ll post some new pictures in 4 weeks. Only time will tell. I may be old but I can hold my own with most of the younger crowd.

Well I"m starting a cleanse cycle, so I’m going to go ahead and start a cut cycle as well. Target is to cut 5-6% BF, which is around 9-10lbs.
Main target area of course is the midsection, a little harder for guys my age, but it can be done. Several guys on here are my inspiration, if they can, I Know that I can.
So I’m going to try a 13 week cut routine and a modified cut diet. Any tips and advice is definantly welcome.
Clean diet and adding VPX Meltdown for some energy will be what I"m going to use to get the BF off.

Alright, I’m currently starting my new routine to try and gain some weight. My plan is 6-8 weeks to put some beneficial weight on.
So here’s where I need the advice. I have read from different sources for my calorie intake. But depending on who wrote the article, it can be from 2500 - 3500 calories. So now I’m not sure which to target.
Would it be better to start at the low end, after 1 week check weight if gaining , make no change, if no weight gain, then add 100-200 calories per day. Continue this until I find the proper #’s for me.
So what do you all think???? I need the advice of some of you guys in their 40’s for what has worked for them.
So all advice is welcome.

Well finally kicked the nasty cold that has had me down for 2 weeks. Lost almost 5 lbs, so I guess thats the positive. But just got me behind on my plans.
So finally started my new routine from today.
Usually have no luck with creatine, but decided to try the new MRI CEE2-HD, probably hipe but trying anyway.
Experimenting with a few other supplements and my diet in hopes to gain about 5 lbs of muscle. New routine to shock the old body into growing. Only time will tell.
So I’ll try to keep weekly updates, still haven’t figured out the best way to measure my BF%. So I’ll have to depend on the scale and the tape measure for now.

What does everyone recommend for checking your own BF% at home.
The hand held electronic devices??
Heard if you have much muscle they were way inaccurate.
Digital Calipers.
Hard to get consistant reading on yourself !!!!!
So what does everyone use?
Not looking for perfect measurement ( not competeing) I just would like to track my improvements, since the scale doesn’t do it for me.
Responses needed.

Starting to plan my next cutting phase, I’m still about 6 weeks out from it but looking for advice on which direction to go with.
So low carb cycle is one option, taking some supplements to help burn BF. Cardio with cvariations of intensity.
So just wanting different tips on what works for the over 40 crowd, since we are special I thought we may need to use some particular routine. All comments welcome and needed.
