Response to .live.laugh.love.’s questions…

Dear .live.laugh.love,

Was not able to find your Bodyspace page, so this was the only way I am able to respond.  First, you ask how many calories a day I consume.  Right now I am 5 1/2 weeks out from a Figure Competition and am consuming around 1750 calories/day….making sure to split that among six meals in one day.  When I’m not training, I consume at least 2000 calories/day if not a little more.  Don’t just look at amount of calories, but what foods you’re consuming.  With each meal you want to make sure you have a healthy balance of Protein, Carbs, and Essential Fats.  In order to lose fat you may want to cut back on the carbs, but not by much.  Everyone has individual needs, so meet with a nutritionist or a personal trainer to figure out what amount of each YOU require for your goals.  They can also help you figure out what supplements are necessary for you to attain the "ideal" body you’re looking for.

Next….without knowing what type of training you’re doing…..all I can say is CARDIO is the KEY to burning the extra fat.  You say the inches are coming off, but the number on the scale hasn’t changed much.  It’s possible that you have put on muscle weight AND losing fat at the same time…..which could show little change on the scale.  This is why it’s never good to rely solely on the number on the scale.  A personal trainer can measure your % body fat and tell you how much fat your body really has compared to lean muscle mass.

I hope I’ve provided the answers you were looking for.  Feel free to write me anytime for any more advice.  Best of luck to you and your boyfriend on your goals.
