Back At it! (Reloaded!)

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Okay….so I was doing fine through the month of December.  Then I got back into a relationship (which is still going strong BTW) and lost all sorts of focus of my fitness goals.  I didn’t do anything terrible by any means.  I only maintained weight but at least I didn’t gain a bunch.  The dinners out didn’t help any.  But here it is, 6 months later and I’ve gotten back on track and have been hitting the gym regularly again and I do feel tons better.  I have one last hoorah for the time being to get past before I hit it really hard.  There’s a wedding I am going to and I know the rehearsal dinner and the Fillet Mignon at the reception HAS to be enjoyed.  Come Monday I’m free and clear till another bachelor party has me in its sights the second week of July!  By that time I should be well into a workout mind set.

Back at it!!!

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

With my cold finally fading I decided to try another approach to finally get my sinuses back in working order.  It’s been in the 20’s (F) as a high the past couple weeks and I have an extremely dry house which contributed to my sinus issues.  I bought a humidifier last night and felt fresh as a daisy this morning!  It’s so nice to finally be able to breath freely.  I’m doing cardio to get used to being in the gym again and I should be able to get back on the lifting track in a couple of days.  Man, I sound as if I haven’t been to a gym in months!  It’s incredible how just taking a couple of weeks off makes you feel.

Still sick

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

This sucks…..I hate being sick.  My sinus’s are plugged and it’s moving into my chest.  I’m not able to do cardio or even breathe relatively hard without coughing.

On a lighter note….I’ve lost 4 pounds!

After the storm…..

Monday, November 26th, 2007

Thanksgiving was once again a tornado of turkey, masked potatoes and stuffing and it rained gravy.  I knew the reality that I would have a lot of good food and there wasn’t much I wanted to do to get around it because out of the two thousand some meals (6/day X 365 days a year) that there are during the year, this is hands down my favorite of them all.  And lucky me……I get to go to three of them (not including the required left overs that the parents require to be had and what they send home with me but Turkey is great protein).  I got a few cardio workouts in over the weekend.  One of which consisted of me tipping a canoe into a river on a 10 degree F day.  That was a wet (frozen actually) and brutal half hour walk back to the truck up and down the river banks which left me exhausted and very sore the next day.   Now I have a cold and won’t be able to work out for a few days while I’m recovering.  I’ll get back into it soon I hope!

Anybody have any good suggestions on what to take to get better sooner?  (Besides the vitamin C that I’m already taking)

So It Begins!

Monday, November 12th, 2007

Started the workout this morning.  Quite a few hurdles to over come.  Over the past year (since I last really worked out hard) I’ve dealt with knee pain, lower back pain, left shoulder pain and a nagging right elbow pain.  I’ve dealt with these things a little before but they seemed to hit really hard this past year.  Hopefully I can be smart enough and patient enough to continue without aggravating anything.  It’s really frustrating to see how out of shape I’ve gotten in the past 15 months but on the bright side it will be exciting to see the changes come quickly as I did when I first started out.
