Failure is not an option, or is it?

Something happened that I was scared to see today–I failed during a squat.  I use a rack with a lot of hooks and was able to fall back a little and hook the bar but man did it make a loud noise.  I’m actually happy that I failed on the last rep, I feel like I’m pushing myself and also not as scared to have this happen again.  Have you failed on a rep with bad or embarrasing results?

Failure in the Squat is never a failure. I feel more proud when I crash out of a squat than at any other time. It’s not ofter I’m in the gym and I see other guys rep to to failure with the squats. I’d say failure is an option, but in the squats, it’s never a failure. Unless you load the bar with 1,000 lbs, back out of the rack and then unlock a knee, then you’re just dead!
