I’m still here

OK, the email from bb.com guilted me into blogging.  I’m still here, just nothing really going on too interesting.  I’m in the final phase of my periodization scheme, I’ll post it soon.  Yesterday was arms and it was too easy, I may play with it to get some more challenge into it.  Also lately I’ve been jump roping, it’s really fun and I think it’s helping the fat loss.  Anyway talk with y’all later.

Failure is not an option, or is it?

Something happened that I was scared to see today–I failed during a squat.  I use a rack with a lot of hooks and was able to fall back a little and hook the bar but man did it make a loud noise.  I’m actually happy that I failed on the last rep, I feel like I’m pushing myself and also not as scared to have this happen again.  Have you failed on a rep with bad or embarrasing results?

Hey all, not much going on lately, just keeping on!   Sold our SUV yesterday to "upgrade" to a minivan….we need more seats with the new baby coming.  It will be about 6-8 weeks from now until delivery–very exciting.  My wife can’t wait to stop hurting.  Legs day today, I guess that means it’s Tuesday…  Just wanted to let y’all know I was still here.  TTFN.

TGIF

Well, it’s Friday, w00t!  Well, the week’s gone well, I’m down to about 195#.  Did some experimenting with the diet by cutting out oatmeal and replacing with eggs for breakfast and one day I went breadless with the tuna..never again yuck! 

I’ve made the realization that I’ll be cutting for about 6-8 weeks into C3, that is until about 5-23 or so.  After that I’ll try to keep maintenance levels and increase muscle size OR maybe just keep it where it is-we’ll see later. 

My wife’s doctor checkups went good this week and have been for a while, but she’s in there about 2-3 times a week since she’s a high risk pregnancy.  She’s generally in good spirits and has been strong throughout.  Who knows maybe she’ll be part of C5.  :)   I’ve talked with her about Body4Life too, that may be an option. 

What do you guys think about being "vascular"?  I’m getting there more every day lately and my wife isn’t completely thrilled…is this an inevitable part of cutting BF%?

Good Morning C3 Week 2!!

Hey all, weekend was kinda ugly…eatinig wasn’t as good as it should have been.  I have to make it up this week!  Had a good workout on Sunday though, went swimming–man I thought I could do it better than I did.  It’s COMPLETELY different than running.  I might start swimming on the weekends for cardio, good reason to take off my shirt too without looking too much like an AW!  Arms later today, let’s make it a good week!

Arms Day

Did arms today, had to push through it fast b/c it’s quarter end close at work–keeps me busy.  Anyway, did triceps through they were still a bit sore, everything else recovered OK.  Any tips to get better recovery?  Right now I’m on a six day split where I repeat the w/o 3 days later.  Lata.

Disappointing Measurments

OK, here’s why I’m excited about C3….I just got my measurments in for the C3 challenge.  My arms came in at 14.5 (I realized I had my arms bent last time I did this, did the same this time to keep continuity) and chest at 39".  Chest was done by my wife, so I’m pretty sure there was no fudge factor on that–there might have been when I did it myself last time to account for the drop.

Anyway this has got me intimidated…after about a year of serious bb activity I’ve only seen minimal gains.  Though I know I can do better!  OK, so help me out here–how do I get an inch on the arms and 2.5 on the chest in 3 months when I haven’t done that in a year?  Is it the amount of protein??  I guess I have 100g on a good day…so if I get to 150 or 175 will that really do it?  Or do I need to revise my goals?  Thanks!

C3 Begins

This is NOT an April fools joke.  3 month challenge to get jacked!  I need to get methodical about my diet…keep goiing back and forth about how to do it.  I think I’m going to try for maintenance to a slight deficit on the intake.  Goal here is 10% BF.  Really I want to have some good definition in the abs. 

As for the size/strength increase–I have posted goals of 1" increase in biceps and 2.5" in the chest. 

To do this I’ll be using a periodization schedule I found on bodybuilding.about.com, it’s already busting my butt.   More later!
