I went to the chiropractor for my back pain and he ordered an MRI for my back and one for my shoulder as I had lingering pain from an old injury. He found that the lowest part of my spine shifted forward and he should be able to correct that, but my shoulder is torn up and will require surgury. I do not wish to have surgery, but he said I would get worse without it and eventually will loose some range of motion in that arm. I will be looking for a second opinion over the next few days but I would like to hear what you have to say. I am currently taking 3 percoset to make it through the day, mostly due to the back pain. I hope to be able to stop taking them soon. (please excuse my spelling, I am very tired)

It has been almost three weeks since I pulled a muscle in my back, so I went to the chiropracter today. He ordered a MRI for me on Friday(soonest available time). I will let you know how it turns out. I am not sure about a chiropracter as I hurt my neck a few years back and went to a different chiropracter for almost a year with no improvement. I just learned to live with the pain. I am ready to get back into a training routine. I am falling off all of my short term goals accept weight.

It has been two weeks since I pulled a muscle in my lower back and I am still in pain. I went to the doctor, but there is nothing that can be done with this type of injury but wait. I am unable to go to the gym, but I am still keeping up with my diet. I have not gained any weight, but I miss working out. I will let you know how I am next week.

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

I pulled a muscle in my lower back a week ago and I have been unable to work out. I went to the doctor to make sure it wasn’t more serious and he gave me some meds and told me to move as much as I could. I have not been to the gym for 9 days and I really miss it. I will take Sunday off and start back on Monday. I was doing squats when my back started hurting, so I might stay away from those while I strengthen my core and especially my lower back.

I went to the gym this afternoon to weigh myself using the same scale. I am down to 262lbs. Only lost 2 lbs this week. Part of that is I hurt my back friday morning and have been laying around the house since then. I am glad I lost anything. My back is still very sore. 2 lbs is good, even though I am so big I should lose 4 or 5 lbs a week I think. Once I get down to 240 or so I think 2 or 3 lbs a week will be good. My first goal is 250lbs by Jan 13th. I think I should be able to get there, but if my back does not get better soon, my goal for running might be pushed back.
