I am not forced to compete, but driven to WIN!!

I placed 13th at the JR. USA’s.

I will take all critques seriously and plan an attack for the Masters in Pittsburgh, PA.

Alright, I must admit I was shell shocked by my new found problem. But my husband says I’m like a PIT BULL when I want something and I just don’t let it go! I still say his analogy, is not a good one. I still find it insulting but I get his point. He also understood I didn’t like his analogy, because I hit him in the back of the head. "That’s not a nice anaolgy for your wife!"

Well, I called Johnny Grady and asked if I could compete in the Gold’s Classic Figure comp. and he said "I would be insulted if you didn’t." Johnny Grady described himself as a man with a "gold tooth and braids," …well. Johnny there is nothing wrong with that! He is a very sweet man and put his all in the show along with the brothers Pat and Mike Valentino. Johnny and Pat are Great promoters! I have never been to a show that ran like clock work!! On time, on time! Us girls in the back didn’t know how to react to a show that ran so smoothly.   "Figure girls, 30 minutes!  Figure girls, start oiling up you go on in 15 minutes!"

Did I mention, in 15 minutes we did go on!!!! When they said 30 minutes they meant it!! WOW!! The show was smooth, just like the promoters and staff!

Oh, the people they enlisted to help out were fantastic!! Kim, helped the girls with make-up! Oh, she rocked!! I hope I remember what she said about eye shadow, lip stick…and Sandy helped us girls with our suits. Pull, tuck, glue,… 

Ladies you rock…I wish I could take you to every show!! It was a team effort and it is greatly appreciated!!!

Did I mention I WON!!!! Yeah baby!!

I won my height class and I won Overall!!! Look for me and the other winners in the Southern Muscle mag.

I would like to thank my husband for the support and tolerance of putting up with me! Much love to ya! I think I’ll keep him! lol!!

Also, for the people who came out to support the comp! I had a hard time not laughing on stage! What a great crowd! Cheerful and lively! xoxo!

I mailed my Jr. USA application and fee for the Figure competition on April 22, 2008. Great! Only thing left to do is continue with my prep and go to the show and COMPETE.

Right? WRONG!!!!

I thought I prepared for everything! I did not think to check my quailfying status. Sandy emailed me on April 30th. to inform me that the Masters divison at the N. American did not qualify me for an open National contest. It only quailfied me for the Masters National.

AAAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!!

The highiest National level I received was 6th place and to quailify you needed to be in the top 5. I did place 2nd at the Quincy Roberts National Quailfier but that was in Dec. 2005 and I had to quailfy in the top 5 finish in an open contest since Jan. 2006.

Jan. 2006…Dec. 2005…Jan. 2006…. No, I’m not crying as I told my husband the bad news.  

No, I won’t cry!! There must be something I can do. I must requailfy!
