Surgery went well…
Thursday, April 30th, 2009Had my shoulder surgery yesterday morning. I got to the hospital just before 6 am. And I was wheeled in to surgery a little after 8 am. When the knock out doctor, can’t spell his title, gave me the knock out drops, I started laughing. When began to feel the affects is when I started laughing which made him start laughing. He also gave me what is called a blocker. To block the nerves in my arm. So when I was taken into surgey I thought my arm was in one place when was caught in the bars of the bed. Weird… Last thing I remember was moving over from the bed to the surgical table and adjusting my head. Then I woke up with my shoulder all wrapped up and my arm in a sling with a cushion between my arm and abomen. A nurse was sitting next to me asked how I felt. I open and closed my eyes to clear out the blur. I had a soar throat. I didn’t relize that they had put a tube down my throat. It’s still a little soar. I’ve been drinking a lot of Sprite. Can’t drink water bacause that hurts. So I had woke up after 10 am and was home about 1130 am. What was really wierd was my arm was completely dead. Oh, it was my left shoulder. By late evening I was getting feeling back. So far I’ve only taken 1 pain pill. And that was just before bed time. So far, so good. I wont get to shower until tomorrow afternoon, sucks. But it’s all good. I am glad I finally got this fixed. I’m looking forward to getting back to working out. That may be a long wait.
