Leg Training 1.29.09

Monday, February 2nd, 2009
Carl Cox - Phuture 2000 (Hybrid Remix)
Leg Extensions: 200lbs x 10 x 7

Hack Squats: 360lbs x 8 x 4

Leg Presses: 900lbs x 10 x 4

Bulgarian Split Squats (Smith): 13lbs x 10 x 4

Narrow Stance Squats (Smith): 22lbs x 10 x 7

Stiff Legged Deadlifts: 225lbs x 10 x 4

Laying Leg Curls: 150lbs x 10 x 4

Single Leg Curls: 75lbs x 10 x 3

Treadmill: 20 minutes 3′ incline at 3mph

This type of leg training is absolutely brutal. I used to think Milos Sarcev’s giant set training was rough, and don’t get me it is, but Hany’s FST-7 program is torture. I can also see why Hany has his athletes packing away a lot of calories because without them, you won’t have the nutritional support to continue this type of training for long. This past weekend I had the chance to talk to one of Hany’s athletes, Mark Alvisi, and he told me he wakes up as early as 5am just so he has enough time to get in all of his calories for the day. That’s pretty nuts if you ask me.
