In the post prohormone era of the supplement industry it appears there has been a new trend at masking dangerous compounds which in themselves are prosteroids. The trend is marked by companies who often use smaller subsidiaries called shell companies. The main advantage to having a shell company is that when FDA comes a knockin' or a subpeona for a lawsuit it can quickly be dissolved with little or no retritbution. Since these shell companies are often attributed to quick buck artists who care more about cashing in quick profits the unresearched or dangerous compounds they sell often end up in the hands of teens and young adults with no clue has to properly use an anabolic oral compound.
I first heard of this supplement across the various forums.I regularly post on. As always, I was surely skeptical of the positive feedback I was reading because often quick gains in musculature are a red flag for steroids. Soon enough I began to see accounts of sideffects being reported which included lethargy and acne which are also indicators of hormonal changes brought about steroids. Being an educated supplement user and wanting to remain natural I steered cleared of this supplement even when I saw post cycle therapies appearing to combat the host of negative side effects being reported. The bottom line is that I will never risk my health for vanity in such a irresponsible manner.
What was even worse is that these PCT protocols were developed by members of AX's team after the supplement had been on the market for awhile. Now given the fact they probably new how potent this supplement was why didn't they print a PCT protocol on the bottle? The reason we know this is a steroid is because Superdrol was actually based off of the steroid Masteron. The only difference was the added between it and Masteron was an additional methyl group attached to the 17th carbon position. This lead to it being formally named Methasteron.
So why didn't the formulators see it fit to offer any sort of proper guidelines? It wouldn't be because this would have drawn red flags from the FDA which would have cut into their profits would it?
Unfortunately, before the FDA finally caught up with this steroid being marketed as a dietaty supplement the damage had been done. This was the hottest post prohormone ban prohormone to hit the streets and word spread fast across the forums and sadly enough falling into the hand of many teenagers and adults who don't have the first clue as to properly take an anabolic compound. As a result, there were cases of delayed onset gynecomastia, sever cramping, lethargy, increases in LDL cholestrol and decreases in HDL cholesterol, duiresis, and even lactation in a few cases. What teenage boy wouldn't mind sporting a nice pair of lactating might I ask? Now since it was a methylated compound and has a duiretic effect, anyone who knows about anabolics could have told you there was a possibility Superdrol was quite possibly both toxic to the liver and kidneys as well. Well now we have our proof of this as well.
Normally, I don't put too much credence in certain case studies involving supplemental compounds such as creatine because both the scientific community and anecdotal feedback from numerous supplement users has been postive and these are merely biased reports. However, in a recent preprint edition of the American Journal of Gastroenterology ( Jasiurkowski et al.) we indeed have seen the result of irresponsibly marketing a supplement which was indeed a steroid in the form of severe liver and kidney pathologies.
Here is an excerpt from the case study:
"A 23-yr-old Hispanic male bodybuilder without any known past medical history presented at the Maricopa Medical Center (MMC) with a 2-wk complaint of nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, jaundice, RUQ abdominal pain, pale stools, dark urine, and itching. Two months before the onset of his clinical symptoms, he had started using an OTC nutritional supplement for bodybuilders named anabolic extreme (superdrol) having methasteron as its active ingredient. He consumed 72 10-mg pills of superdrol, starting at one tablet daily for 2 wk followed by two tablets daily. He did not exceed the maximal suggested dose of 126 pills (10 mg each) that was recommended over a 6-wk period. He stopped using superdrol with the onset of diffuse skin itching. He did not report any history of alcohol, recreational drugs, or tobacco use. There was no family history of liver disease. He did not have any drug allergies.On physical examination, his vital signs were stable. He was deeply icteric with several scratch marks noted throughout the trunk and lower extremities. He was overweight with a BMI of 28. The abdomen was slightly tender in the right upper quadrant with no evidence of ascites, hepatosplenomegaly, or a Murphy's sign.At presentation, labs revealed a total bilirubin of 36.2 g/dL, an AST of 57 U/L, ALT of 93 U/L, alkaline phosphatase of 224 U/L, total protein of 9.1 g/dL (6.3...8.2), and IgG of 669 mg/dL (751€”1,560). The hepatitis viral antibodies including HAV-IgM, HB core-IgM, HBS-AG, HBV core-AB IgG, HIV-1 AB, HDV-AG as well as HCV-RNA, and HBV-DNA by polymerase chain reaction were negative. The ceruloplasmin was 76 mg/dL. Smooth muscle, antinuclear, myeloperoxidase, and LKM antibodies were negative. Alpha-fetoprotein was normal. A hepatitis A IgG-AB was positive. A 24-h urinary copper was 166 μg/dL. A urinalysis did not reveal proteinuria or hematuria. The rest of his lab reports are summarized in Table.The patient was hospitalized for one day and discharged on oral ursodeoxycholic acid at 600 mg twice daily and hydroxyzine at 25 mg three times daily to be used as needed for pruritus. Two weeks later, he presented to the hospital because of vomiting and unrelenting skin itching. He was hypertensive with a blood pressure of 189/86 mmHg, and the use of metoprolol at a dose of 50 mg twice daily normalized his blood pressure.A liver biopsy showed features of marked intrahepatic cholestasis, mild portal inflammation consisting predominantly of lymphocytes, foci of lobular inflammation with balloon degeneration, mild Kupffer cell iron deposition and pericellular fibrosis. There was no evidence of granulomas, peliosis, hepatic rosettes, portal fibrosis, or bile duct injury (Fig. 1). The hepatic iron index was 1.19. An abdominal ultrasound showed mild liver enlargement at 18 cm. The gallbladder and bile duct were normal. The kidneys were slightly echogenic. The CT scan of the abdomen with IV and oral contrast did not show any liver lesion, ascites, or biliary obstruction. A kidney biopsy showed interstitial edema containing a mild lymphohistiocytic infiltrate with numerous esoinophils. An immunofluoresecence stain showed diffuse granular mesangial staining for IgA (2+) (Fig. 2). After 1 wk of hospitalization, the patient was discharged and readmitted 4 days later because of rectal bleeding and a hemoglobin level of 7.9 gm/dL with an MCV of 89 fL. The upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopies did not reveal any varices. After receiving 2 units of packed red blood cells, his hemoglobin increased to 9.4 g/dL and he was discharged home. Two wk later, he followed up in the outpatient clinic, feeling better without any itching and near-normalization of his lab reports including both kidney and liver function. As you can see this subjects values were grossly affected by use of this supplement which resulted in a host of kidney and liver related pathologies. Now some may counter and say this aspiring bodybuilder should have known to use a proper PCT. However, we all know that generally speaking most people aren't aware of this approach and is why I fault Anabolic Xtreme for not making an honorable attempt at trying to limit the side effects which Superdrol was going to ellicit.
The real issue here is that not everyone has access to the internet or to talk to experienced anabolic users who can offer advice. They rely on word of mouth and obviously this guy probably heard about some amazing "supplement" called Superdrol which would make him "huge." Little did he know that he was actually taking a potentially toxic streroid that would leave him in the need of serious medical attention. Do you think Anabolic Xtreme is going to send him flowers or pay his medical bills?
I have shared my feelings about how irresponsibility and greed in this industry is going to ultimately end the FDA's loose stance on supplements numerous times in the past. What saddens me about this particular case is that I now see why reporters like Amy Shipley and numerous politicians target a freedom I have come to enjoy. Looks like they have another log to throw on the fire now:
"The case highlights that because of a lack of governmental control in the manufacture, distribution, and advertisement of OTC medications, misrepresentation of ingredients present in such remedies is possible and policies for regulation of OTC/CAM must be reviewed."
I don't want to lose my right to natural performance enhancing supplements because of shell companies who only care about profit at the cost of health. Isn't the point of the long hours of sweat and blood poured in the gym to be healthier? Isn't that the point of adhereing to a well structured and meticulously planned diet? Isn't that the point of living with a positive mentality towards health and well being? Shouldn't the health of consumers be a priority for supplement makers? I would hope so.

Good write up. the supp makers should be required to disclose proper PCT protocall on the label of their products and re-sellers should be required to check ID. Ultimately the government should not control what I put in my own body but they should combat these shell companies from deliberately misleading consumers in the name of the mighty buck.
The reason drugs are dangerous in the first place is the Gov. is involved in keeping them illegal. It is aginst the law to buy a proper PCT in the first place due to the Gov.
We should all fight the Gov. (buy guns) and take back our basic rights.

i took superdrol for 3 1/2 week @ 10 mg first week. and 20 mg everyday for the next 2 1/2 weeks. i looked awesome....however i used rebound XT for pct...and i did not keep my gains. i will run it again soon enough

Superdrol is an excellent steroid(it is an steroid not a PH). It is as bad as Tren and Anadrol. If you run a cycle for 3 weeks you will get descent result and not much of sides, like winny but alittle bit better by itself; and the hispanic bodybuilder was he talking more juice than superdrol.
I have use Masteron, Dbol, Tren, Adrol, Test, Eq, Stanozolol and Deca. I can tell you everything is bad if you dont know how to use it. You gotta be someone new to run a cycle with out nolva and hcg in the first place.

i took a six week cycle of testadrol (same compound as superdrol but 50% more mg per dose) and has virtually no sides. i gained 20 lbs. of solid ass muscle in those six weeks and my bench press went up 85 lbs. no ****. all i have to say is that you absolutely have to be responsible for your own health (i.e. take a proper PCT, take milk thistle for your liver, eat clean and drink plenty of water). also if your under 22 you probably dont have any business taking a PH or steroid since you already have too much testosterone in the first place. take a natural test booster like novedex and eat a ****load and youll get the same results without risking your health

Swoody - in all your rambling you failed to mention one thing that was remotely sensible.
First and foremost, people throw PCT around like it's a magical combination of certain compounds that will cure all. NOT! First, you have to understand the compound you are consuming and what effects it will have on a person physiologically. Factors include, but not limited to, age, weight, gender, genetic history (paternal / maternal), current physiological condition, other medications you coudl be consuming and your current diet. That's the small list. If there was a blueprint all of you could follow, then Swoody would make us all smart!
The solution is on the burden of the manufacture to do adequate testing and provide detailed information on what the product is designed to do, what it converts to when consumed, and what happens if you take too much. Additionally, the manufacture should be reuired to detail the specifics of how to take the product end-to-end so that it leaves the consumer in no worse a state as they were before they decided to take it.
Using Swoody's position, only stupid people criticize other people, but stupid companies who put out products with limited testing are just as stupid as the people taking them.

Im almost 20 years old and have been lifting seriously for over two years. I diet right and consume enough protien where i should be gaining muscle, yet my bench will simply not go up no matter what I try. 20 is too young for steroids. Eat a clean bulk diet...1.5+g protein/lb bodywt, around 2.5+g carbs/lb bodywt, and a solid amt of healthy mono and poly-un. fats. Learn how to eat post workout....50-70g protein(to get bigger, gotta go all out), maltodextrin as your carb source(I gained some fat when using dextrose). Take in your efas, a multi, and, of course, creatine(save yourself some $: after loading, if you're eating the right way, you'll only need around 1.5-2g daily to maintain: take it post workout). Forget about glutamine, the body produces some, and any protein powder worth it's shelf space has plenty in it for anyone. And, if you still want that feeling of taking something extra, take a natural Test Booster like Gaspari's Novedex XT(not a requirement). I take it, it cuts water, gives great vascularity, makes workouts great, and gives me an absurd appetite.
You also may want to consider arginine pyroglutamate, when taken every 2nd or 3rd day before bed, it jacks up Growth Hormone levels(OD'ing is useless, and taking it everyday makes the body resistant to normal levels)
Do this for 6-8 years....If you still feel the need to get even bigger, quicker....then, take a step over to the dark side....

I am 35 years old. 5' 10" 205lbs. I've gained roughly 65lbs since grad 91. Yes, I've used plenty of juice over the years. Yes, I've had side effects. Started young, early 20's with lots of friends on juice. I did what they did and got amazing results. I started losing my hair at 27ish and was completely bald by 31. This is not genetic in my family. I contribute this to ignorance on my part. I started researching what I was doing and am now well educated in the stuff I use. I suggest anyone doing roids to educate themselves. Less is more if it's good stuff. PCT and diet a must. Superdrol is very powerful works as good as d-bol. Be careful with this stuff. Every bottle seems to be different. I got gyno on my 2nd cycle with lactation so did my brother and several of our friends, I also got a body rash and ended up in the hospital with menanjitis. Get legit nolvadex and keep it on hand. I haven't had sides on this cycle @ 4caps spread out the day. I am ordering the new version today. This cycle I've put on 13lbs. and I'm using androgel. Since this steroid is similar to masteron and DHT derived, it cannot aromatize to estrogen. Estrogen is what causes most gyno... which is what Nolvadex treats. This gyno along with your lactation (breast milk) are signs of high progesterone and high prolactin. Nolvadex will only make this condition worse actually.... I would suggest treating your condition with Letrozole or "Letro" and Dostinex (Cabergoline) or Bromocriptine... Letro is the most powerful anti estrogen there is and may be able to reverse the gyno you have if it isn't too severe.
I am using superdrol now and i dont have any boobs. I have never done any steroids. A friend had a few bottles left since the ban and i am on my 2nd week. Ive gained 7 Lbs and i my squat weight went up 30 lbs like that. I hope i dont get breast milk or raisin nuts. I am really scared now that i read what u guys write. I will definetly only do it for 4 weeks. My friend said 6 weeks but that sounds too long. I agree that supplement companies should share more of the facts b4 releasing their product

I just came off a cycle of Sustevol 250. Didn't hit as hard as the old superdrol with gains coming after double recommended dosage for 5 weeks. No side effects as of yet. I'm solid 203-205 so I put on about 8-10 since coming off my last old superdrol cycle. I'll see if it sticks. 350 went up pretty easy on bench last week and my strength and endurance during training was good. I'm taking off one month using androgel and nolvadex for pct then a cycle using superdrol ng.

For Johnny Badhair- If superdrol didn't aromatize then why need pct? If it didn't cause gyno. then explain all the people who got it just from using superdrol.
For Brad- everyone's absorption is different, some people praise androgel, some say it's worthless. They will re-test your levels after 30 days, if you are not absorbing then they will give you cypionate injections which will get the job done.

I have been on sdrol / m-drol (sdrol clone ) at least fife times. Sometimes I was on it for 6 weeks sometimes 5 weeks sometimes 3 weeks. Also the dose did vary max was 30 mg a day but not for the whole cycle always started with 10 mg for a few days and then I worked my way up to 30 mg. I have only had problems once when two liver values and cholesterol values were to high still four weeks after taking sdrol / m-drol. I had another blood work done another four weeks after that and everything was in an order again. I did take 600 mg of Milk Thistle during these four weeks.

Can anybody tell me here if it is useful to take Milk Thistle or another liver protection while on Methylated such as M-Drol etc. : I here this and that.. some say liver protection inhibits or suppresses the effect of Methylated PH ? What is pct?
You mentioned that you are all natural and therefore are bias against any hormonal supplements.
