Tired ever since I started power training

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

I started training with a partner again. We are doing a  "get big" power training schedule. Its two different training styles that alternate each weak. One week is a heavy power lifting style workout. Ever since we have started this, my body has been tired and sore. On one hand I’m very excited I get sore for 2-3days after the training session. On the other hand, I dont like how tired I am. Feels like I have AIDS or something (maybe i should get checked j/k). I think I’m eating enough food as well as getting close to 8 hours of sleep on a regular basis. Anyone else experience this? Anything that can help the tired feeling?

shopping with bodybuilding.com

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

I often buy my supplements from bb.com

I just ordered last week $235 worth of goods. This entitled me to a freebie gift. I picked the blue bb.com shirt. When i got my box they also include a shaker. Now with all the money i spend @ bb.com a $3 shaker doesn’t seem like a lot. However, to me this just shows bb.com’s class. Keep it up bb.com

And no i dont work for them lol

ode to Veterans day

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

As I type, the wind from this beautiful day flows threw the open window. I pause and reflect on what a lucky person I am to enjoy the freedoms of America. Anyone who can’t appreciate that should spend some time in a third world country. Tomorrow is a paid holiday… on the backs of the Veterans. I would be doing a disservice to this country if I did not enjoy my day off. Just one more reminder of how lucky I am.

Yet in a land far away, young men and women are on high alert. Good people may die today and you have the audacity to complain about petty things. I support the war and the veterans! Remember if the war is not fought on foreign lands… then it will make it to the shores of the U.S. If my country needs me, I’d take up arms and be sent over seas.

Veterans this is to YOU. I can not tell you how much I owe you. Keeping the American dream alive. I am in debt to you… forever.

9/11… never forget

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Tuesday will be the 6 year annerversity of the terrorist attacks on America. Today I watched some of the shows that documented these events.

Do you remember where you were when you heard the twin towers were hit? I do… I was a senior in high school. My P.E. class just ended and I was walking to my economics class. My friend James ran up to me and asked if i heard that two air planes hit the twin towers. He said we are going to world war III and then ran down the hall. I walked into my economics class and the teacher had the T.V. on. I saw the two towers flaming. Later they both fell. I didnt have much feeling about it at the time.

I hope if terrorist ever try to take over a plane again, that people will respond with force right away. If it happens on my watch "We will not go quietly into the night…we will not vanish without a fight!"

Canadian fitness hotties?

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Whats with the high ratio of Canadian fitness hotties? I’ve noticed a lot of women who live in Canadian who are into fitness. 9 out of 10 times they are in extremely good shape…. and are really really nice too. Whats up with that?

Sweet sweet justice

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

Ok so I went to a large bar 30min away from where i live with my good friend. As we are making our way around he points a girl out and asks if we used to go to high school with her. Her face…. then it clicks. She used to be this super hot girl everyone liked in HS. I then noted the girl next to her was another really hot cheerleader. My friend says "Didnt they used to be hot"… im thinking ya KEY words are "used to be".

We went up to them to confirm their identity. The second thing out of their mouth was "don’t we look the same as in high school". I had to hold my laughter in. The sweet justice had set in. Their looks had gone to the waste side and they never had a personality to begin with. 5 years after their peak the pizza and drinks finally caught up to them. It was a liberating experience. I’m I a bad person for enjoying this moment?

Are you 2 dimensional, is fitness your whole life?

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

As someone who loves to learn and implement health and fitness… its not my whole life. Sure I spend 6 days a week working out. As well as my profession being in the health and wellness industry. With all that said I still don’t see myself being 2 dimensional or a one trick pony.

Sometimes I will go out with people i know from the gym. Within 10min I know why its not a good idea. All they want to talk about is training. There is so much more to life then working out. Politics, history, current events, the environment… hell even theoretical physics. Am i dedicated to lifting? Hell ya I am. Do I plan on ever stopping? NO, providing my body doesn’t break down on me lol. Nothing says you can’t be dedicated, yet pursue other things. Case and point is Arnold Swarchenegger. What set him apart from every other bodybuilder? He was/is charismatic, personable, and looked beyond what was currently in front of him.

Point of the story? Don’t let your life pass you by. Its to special and relatively short to be 2 dimensional. Be a double threat by being knowledgeable in fitness, as well as other aspects of life.

PS: Obviously i like to talk about fitness with others on bodyspace, but then again thats why I’m specifically on this site. This post has to do with life outside of this realm

Autopsy… life experience

Friday, July 20th, 2007

I get to go to an Autopsy on Monday! This will be a great learning experience. I’ll get to see clogged arteries, fat, the heart, etc. I read the effects of an unhealthy lifestyle and now i get to see it for real. I’m sure it will be a surreal thing…
