ode to Veterans day
Sunday, November 11th, 2007As I type, the wind from this beautiful day flows threw the open window. I pause and reflect on what a lucky person I am to enjoy the freedoms of America. Anyone who can’t appreciate that should spend some time in a third world country. Tomorrow is a paid holiday… on the backs of the Veterans. I would be doing a disservice to this country if I did not enjoy my day off. Just one more reminder of how lucky I am.
Yet in a land far away, young men and women are on high alert. Good people may die today and you have the audacity to complain about petty things. I support the war and the veterans! Remember if the war is not fought on foreign lands… then it will make it to the shores of the U.S. If my country needs me, I’d take up arms and be sent over seas.
Veterans this is to YOU. I can not tell you how much I owe you. Keeping the American dream alive. I am in debt to you… forever.
