Decided to Compete!! Help!! Dont even know where to start!!
Well this is a new year, and an new me!! With that being said i have decided to figure compete June 12, 2010 at the Black Gold Classic in Odessa, Tx. This is a new goal and challenge for me, and something I really don't know a whole lot about!! But where there is a will there is a way...right?!! This competition is a NPC comp. So I guess some one needs to tell me how about entering and such...lol!! Do I fill out the NPC card ($90) and mail it in. Then where do I begin on making the most of this!! Open for lots of suggestions!! I am starting by letting go of the past and looking to the future, I am reading JNL's new book "Mind, Body, & Soul". Excellent book for those that haven't let go of the past!! With that being said...LET THE JOURNEY BEGIN!!
First off, congrats!! You'll need your NPC card, then the individual shows will have entry fees for your classes. You can do both novice and open if you want.
Training, try and find a good posing coach at the very least. Presentation is a huge thing and truly most of the poses will seem unnatural. You can always tell a competitor that hasn't had enough practice in that. Also, get your heels as soon as you can and get used to them. Should be able to run in those things! The state will be hard, so try wearing them when you go grocery shopping, no joke.
Also, find someone to make a custom suit for you. Start basic because you can always add more stone work later. You'll want one cut to fit your frame and bodylines the best.
Nutrition... Lotta options there.
That's a starting point. When you get closer you can address issues like your tan, water deplete if need (totally depends on the competitor if this is even necessary), etc.
Most importantly have fun!! First shows are always a rough ride, especially the diet.
Girl you are going to do great! Can't wait to hear how everything goes.
