FRUSTRATION……ARGHHHHH

Is an understatement right now…..I have been working  my A** off at the gym, and eating healthy so why is it that I  put on a pair of jeans and they are just as tight as they were months ago???? What is it that I am doing wrong.  Not enough Protein?  Not eating enough times during the day?? Not enough Cardio?? Seriously what am I doing wrong lately??  I am going home on October 7th, and wanted to be down some when I see my girls again…its been a long 6 months without them (19 & 17 but still my babies).  So is stress maybe playing a part in all this?  Although there have only been a few days that i have been totally stressed out!! Hmmmmmmmmmmmm…..I want answers!! LOL!!! Its a new day…so its going to be a new  plan of action!! I gotta do this….FOR ME!!! Besides I have goals and I will ATTAIN them!!! Okay i am done venting…lets get this day started!!!

    Deanna,
I can tell you it took me 6-7 months to start seeing my body change. I know it was changing because of the running and eating well, but clothes were actually getting tighter. Was very frustrated, but then realized it had to be muscle I was gaining and fat was coming off. All I can say is keep at it. Yes, we all know stress adds to messing up with cortisol levels and all that. The diet thing I had to change DRAMATICALLY. Hate my diet, but it’s working..finally. Working 12 hr shifts doesn’t help either. As an ER doc…shifts are 12-14 hrs and trying to eat every few hours isn’t possible. Don’t give up!!!!

Well stress is definitely not good…for anything.

Are you tracking your body composition and inches or just your weight?

Have you posted your exact diet and height and weight in the forums? I’m sure you’ll get some feedback.

I’m sure you know but you need to figure out how many cals your burning and then set up a meal plan that keeps in a slight deficit. Don’t overdue the cardio and track all your food intake through fitday.com so you can figure out what’s going on.

Or maybe you shrunk your jeans in the dryer ;)

LOl….thanks Morillo…..if i look at the progress pics you can see my body has changed….just not where i want it too i guess. Maybe i do need to start keeping track again of what i eat…and the calories i burn…TY

Thanks Stacy…..I think i majorly need to change up the eating and the workouts….finally someone that understands the 12-14hour shift thing..lol!! I am not giving up…just frustrated!!

Wow, I totally can relate with the frustration! How do you feel? Besides usuing the jeans or scale as a measurement…how do you feel?

Hi Deanna, Looks like your getting some good advice from others but really wanted to just encourage you too. You have already come this far in your life style change and you are doing great! Sometimes life’s frustrations can cloud our view of past accomplishment and even future dreams or goals. The way we look at those frustrations is what makes the difference. Someone once told me,"There are things that will seem to stop you in your tracks, on your way to accomplishing your dreams. They are tests to see how bad you really want to live out your dream and where you want to end up in life. Everyone will end up somewhere, but few will end up somewhere on purpose." Keep pressing toward your dreams and what you want to accomplish in life, do it on purpose!

hey girl! i really like what dbzyone had to say. it really is true. also, our short term goals are the one’s that give us the most stress. i used to be able to achieve them in a week or two and now it is taking months. but it is finally happening. (had a lapse the last couple weeks but I am back at it!) every time i had a few weeks before seeing my boyfriend the stress just intensified. the increase in protein, EV coconut oil and drinking LOTS of water has made a difference for me. Carbing up a couple days made a noticeable difference too!

Hey Girlie~ Hang in there! It could be a number of things..I know that you have made great progress! You know what to do…maybe it is time to step back, re-evaluate your diet & workout and see what happens. Our bodies are smart..they get used to us doing the same exercise, eating the same foods, etc. Shake it up a bit and see what happens! I started eating Fiber One again & the scale is moving..bizarre, I know.

    Hey Deanna,
I know how that feels to be so frustrated with your jeans! ARGH. I had a complete transformation in my body after changing my workouts. I was doing the typical gym workout and running MANY miles of steady-state cardio. I changed to whole-body workouts, combined with HIIT, and went from puffy flab to ripped with six-pack. It took me 12 weeks, but the progress was major. Try KILLING your weight workout and then finish with the HIIT for 10-20 minutes. It really worked for me…GOOD LUCK! And have fun on your visit with your "babies!!" :)

  10. clcassani Says:

D - You should do Turbulance Training with Lora and me, she’s doing her second 12 week transformation. We are doing the same wo now.

I agree with her - the cardio after lifting just seems to lean people out. Do you switch your wo’s every 4 weeks, totally new WO’s???? you may want to do that, that’s why TT is good, it’s full body and diff every 4 weeks. Your shift is challenging as well, do you bring clean snacks to work with you, I’d have a huge cooler going!!! lol. Keep in touch. clc.
