Cardio Heaven or Hell?
There is one thing I hope to understand about most people and cardio. Why is it that when most people think about cardio there are usually negative connotations attached to their thinking?
Most believe cardio is boring, just something they have to "put" up with to achieve fat loss. Who made this so? Most people’s idea of cardio workout is running, using the elliptical machine or othre standard gym cardio equipment.
Why the restrictions? Can one achieve a good cardio workout only through standard cardio equipment? I know there are some people who just love these machines or running outdoors; nothing wrong with that. The goal is to find a cardio workout that’s enjoyable.
Gasp… did i just say enjoyable? A lot of blogs i’ve read on bb.com talk about how people endure their cardio workouts because it’s something they "have to do" in order to achieve weightloss. It is true that in order to lose fat one must combine cardiovascular workouts along with a thorough strength training program.
I believe a cardio workout can be very enjoyable. My cardio routine varies a lot based on what i’m in the mood for. I absolutely adore kickboxing, dancing and playing football with my younger brother. I’m talking 1-2 hr sessions of cardio that are pure fun. I make sure my sessions have varied intensity so i’m not just having fun but gettin the full benefits of my cardio workout.
I’m hoping to change some views about how cardio is perceived. Let me know your thoughts

I totally agree. I love dancing too and I also enjoy the elliptical. Either way cardio is a way to get the heart pumping and blood flowing so Just DO It!
