1 Year at sea with no gym!

Heres my problem and i’m looking for some ideas. I’m finally getting to go to the middle east but the thing is i will not have access to a gym or any real wieghts. i have worked my ass off to get the size i have and i need some ideas for workouts i can do on a small ship to help keep some of my size. I’m no dumb ass, i know i’m going to loose some, i just want to minimize it.

Just off the top of my head…
    1 legged squats
Pushups/Pullups/Calves while wearing a backpack full of heavy stuff
    Isometric exercises (think Charles Atlas)
    Sprints
Crossfit style workouts using anything heavy you can get your hands on

I would suggest pullups for back utilizing different grips, chin ups for biceps, reverse triceps extensions, good ole push ups hi reps or have a buddy lay on your back for more intensity.Hanging leg raises and crunches for abs, for legs weight less squats hi reps and also pick a buddy up over your shoulders for more intensity same for calves etc.Your gonna have to make the best of it! BEST OF LUCK!

Is there any way to find out what equipment you will have access to? There’s got to be heavy stuff someplace…on a base or a ship?

Jaedog had some great suggestions…Believe me, you won’t be the only one with this issue. As soon as you are able, see who else is around who might have the same goals. Its going to be a small group but there is definitely strength/creativity in numbers. If it is important to you, I know you will find a way to keep some of that mass. There are a ton of military/exmilitary guys on this site. Maybe post this a few times and see if you can get more responses. I, for one, want to say thank you! There are so many people out here who appreciate your service. You are a real hero. God speed and good wishes!

Thanks you guys. There’s not allot of heavy stuff aboard the size boat i’m going to, I’ll be lucky if there is a bike on the fantail but i didn’t think of the back pack idea, i could really load one up with whatever i can get my hands on and tie that in to my dips, pushup, pullup, squats and all.

Do any of you have any good band workouts, had a few people tell me you can get a good workout with them.

Thanks again you guys, got me thinking
