summer is here

I am so glad summer is here.  this last year I had one of the hardest groups of kids in my class.  I am worn out.  It has been really rough.  The gym is my reward and my de-stress time, but I have been very inconsistent because of my kids baseball.  Games and practices and pick up and drop outs take a lot of my time, but baseball is over and now it is time to get more consistent at the gym.  Don’t get me wrong I love watching my son play and I didn’t miss one game.  This time will never be here again and watching him and being with him is very important.  But now I am on vacation and historically this has been a good time for me to focus and work hard at the gym.  It started today and even though I wanted to be lazy I pushed through and had a good work out.  Good for me!! LOL

I have not written in awhile.  I realized the other day that I have been stuck.  I am not sure why but it doesn’t matter   I have decided to move forward.  I have changed up my workouts and I think that has helped.  I am a  person who loves routine and a schedule, but I also know that I need to mix it up some every once in a while.  Sometimes I get discouraged and frustrated because I don’t look like someone else or have not reached a goal.  The good thing is that I perserve.  I will keep going and one day will reach that goal.  So hopefully this next season will be one of change and I can look back and see that I have gotten closer to having the body I want.

YEEHAW!!!

Today I weighed 199 lbs. I haven’t been under 200 lbs in over 15 years.  It feels so good to reach this place.  I still want to get to 190 by the end of the year.  I know I will do it.  Thanks to everyone who has written or commented your support has been great.  I didn’t realize how powerful it was to have others on board.  I notice my confidence increasing.  I am asking other guys at the gym why they do certain things and then give it a try.  Today at the gym I had an extra spring in my step because I know and see that all my hard work is paying off.  Now I have to work on my head and get rid of all the crap about thinking I am still fat.  It is hard because for so long that is how I viewed myself and it was true.  Well it isn’t true any more and I need to throw that old tape out and replace it with "I am a strong and fit man who is getting stronger and fitter!"  YEAH!

I have been stuck at 204 for awhile.  this has happened a lot as I have been losing weight, but it is fustrating.  I am staying firm in my determination to lose weight and get the body I want.  I know it is harder as you get older but I am going to do it.  I see other guys on here and they inspire me.

It has been exciting to meet new people and hear their encouragement.  It has been hard to get to the gym this week.  Kids need to be places and the wife is out of town.  Not a whole lot of time for me.  That’s okay, sometimes that is the way it is.  Thanks to everyone for the good words and inspiration.
