Bodybuilding Injuries
Saturday, September 27th, 2008I’ve just recently come back to hitting the weights after about 3 months off due to a bruised wrist tendon (o.k., hold the jokes), which is actually my first bodybuilding-related injury. When it happened I tried to work through it, thinking it may just work itself out—which I now know is a very stupid way to go about it. Had I known better, like those that have suffered any kind of weight training injuries do, it only gets worse. After a few months off (doctor’s orders) I’m back in full swing. Oddly enough, starting back hasn’t been all that difficult. And, I’m now back to about 95% strength after only one week. Going forward, I’ll be wearing the lifting gloves with the wrist supports and blah blah blah blah.
So what about any of you? Ever had a workout-related injury? How long were you out? How much did it affect your workouts when you came back?
