Time to Regroup and Change the Focus.
Fall soccer season is almost over. One more game for my team, the Gunners. We stand at 4-2 right now. All losses by one goal. I’m OK with that since I had to teach my undersized team how to play smarter and quicker, which was a new concept for some of them. My workouts have been slacking this week as I think my body hit the wall from two nights of practice, going to NFL/NHL games, running wellness programs at work, keeping up with friends and family. The good news is I’m maintaining my weight, getting the basic weight workouts in and finally getting to the point where my right leg is starting to look like the left a year after the ACL Recon. I’ve learned to hit long-balls with my left foot so I don’t have to put all that force on my right leg. After Sunday, I’m making my team take almost three weeks off, just to do something besides soccer.
I have one last challenge for the year; a 5k for Turkey Day. I’m not a runner, so I’m only looking at finishing while running. If it isn’t to chase after a ball, I prefer to walk, bike, skate, but not run.
Time to get back to lifting at my pace, doing the cardio in the PM and eating at normal times.
