Well, I ought to be used to it by now, when I gain muscle, I cannot lose fat. This week I gained 2 more pounds of LBM and lost one pound of fat, which is good, but frustrating becasue I have a BF mark I want to hit by Jan. 1 and now it will be very difficult. My BF % is 15.69, LBM is 137.85 and pounds of fat are 25.65, for a total weight of 163.25. Great percentage, it keeps going down every week, it’s just that I am re-gaining muscle faster than I am burning fat. I don’t want to get too aggressive in the off-season with diet and cardio. So I’m going to keep following what I am doing and LISTEN TO ROGER! Plus I just had a killer leg workout, XM channel 48 is kick ass!

well i didn’t hit my numbers the way i wanted to so i’m gonna have to step it up and get more aggressive with my diet. i guess i eat so clean all the time that the weight gain i had was more from some weekend indulgences, my m-f diet stayed clean, so it’s not enough to just follow that 7 days, need to come at it with some hi-lows, story of my life!

HEY! So, I have taken a couple of months off, willingly, knowing some weight gain would follow, but it was healthy for the mind. So I am back on track now, in off-season, pre-diet mode. I will update my stats every Friday, with a goal of losing 2 pounds per week and 1% of bodyfat per week, zeroing in on getting to 155 and 13% body fat to start the New Year. Wish me luck, any advice is acceptable! Happy weekend!

My legs have always thrown off the overall look of my physique. This past year I gave real strong attention to not gaining too much weight, and to lengthening my hamstrings. I don’t think my hams have ever really been weak, but I also feel like they were short and tight. So, I made special effort to really lift up on them when I strethch, which basically means sticking out and up my butt. Something that really helped in lengthening them was the yoga pose, downward facing dog. So, my hams really did come out this year, my rear-end tightened up and my goal for next year is to zero in on it even more, especially that glute-ham tie in. Futhermore, having lengthened hams like that really paid off in back training. I feel so much more balanced. There’s my 2 cents for the day!

The older I get, the more I realize the importance of faith in my life. I used to be total control freak, with a direct path of my life mapped out ahead. But I found that the more I mapped out, the less it happened that way due to factors I couldn’t control. Now, I do plan for the things I can control, my diet, my workouts, my schedule (for the most part), but you cannot control everything, especially other people. It seems like the more I let faith guide me, the happier I am. I used to get all worked up over every little thing. I have gotten so much better at not doing that. It’s made me a better competitor, a better trainer, and a better person. Furthermore, why let what other people do get you down, all you can control is yourself. Leave the past where it is at, in the past. Working at the YMCA has really taught me all of this. Their character value system is amazing and it has definitely benefited me. So, moving right along……
My latest and greatest thing is to do the "Cut Diet" from my friends over at Scivation. Their products ROCK, check them out at www.scivation.com. Cardio is going well, I love teaching my cycling classes. Life is just pretty much normal right now, no drama. Not that I ever let much drama in anyhow. I’m just me. Plain, simple and low-maintainence. Just don’t get in the way of my feeding time!

whatever that is! I’m not "allowed" to strength train this week, yoda’s orders (aka my boyfriend/trainer Roger). But I have been back on the cardio because for one thing, it feels great, and for another thing I have a 5k next week, which will be SO FUN. I have a very busy next several weeks, work, work and work, will see my family soon, have a few parties to attend and basically an active social life in general. I have the bestest friends in the whole world, they all called me Sunday and Monday. I was seriously tired after Monday, smiling and talking all day! I’m so gald I won my class, and everyone in my class was very deserving to be on that stage. The overall would have been nice, but yet another goal to shoot for. When? Who the heck knows. I have plenty to do right now so some time off the stage will be good. I was very happy with my overall package, right down to the hair and make-up. I did a photo shoot between the am and pm segments, so I will hopefully have those soon. i can’t wait to see those! Later y’all. Now, if the darn BENGALS would win!

Well in 48 hours the evening finals will be under way. I BEAT my body fat goal, never thought I’d be under 8. Anyhow, I feel prepared for this show. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this good two days away. I’m usually stressed about something; hair, make-up, suits, something. But this is the best I have ever felt. I honestly feel like I did every thing within my power to prepare. So now, it will be time to pose hard and the rest is up to the judges. And then it will be time to party like a rock star afterwards! Everyone who ever steps on-stage is a winner, reguardless of how the points tally. It’s not an easy thing to do, and neither is judging a show. Most everyone on-tage is in the best shape of their lives, usually. So, cheers to all my fellow competitors and goal setters!!! Next up, a 5k!

WOW! I can’t beleive this is already the week of the show! I have been pretty busy though, not much time to think really. I have hit all my stat. goals, weight, BF%, pounds of fat and LBM. Now it’s just running through this week, and practice posing of course. My suits fit GREAT! A client of mine altered them for me. I’m really excited. Reguardless of where I place, I am happy AND my mom bought me a plane ticket to go home and see them next month. So, all is well! I love it when a plan comes together!

So, all is well. My runs are going exceptional, BF is down again and LBM keeps going up, yeah carbs! Training back tonight, my favorite! Going to super-set abs in-between so I remember to do them, I HATE doing abs, as most competitors do!

I was right, training legs last night was a STRUGGLE. I can tell though my metabolism is back up after carbbing today because I am hungry. Roger is going to check my stat’s tomorrow. I have to train a client at 6:30am, then do my run. I taught cycle today at 6am, lots of early mornings here lately. TTFN
