Plan of ATTACK!!!

Today was a crazy day all around. I was able to sit down and focus on a plan of ATTACK! Yes, that is what I named it. I’m one of those crazy people that need a clear/defined do A.) follow with B.) and you"ll get C.) It’s just how I am hardwired. I need to be able to micromanage the process. Overall, I am very happy with the plan and will be implementing it starting tomarrow. So first thing, I will be taking before pictures to be followed up every week. No, I will not post the progress pics until I have a little time under my belt. (6-8 weeks worth minimum!.) Stay tuned…..

Rest Day

Today I felt like absolute poo. I’m still having trouble sleeping and I now get anywhere from no sleep to 4 hours of patchy sleep daily. Last night/this morning the last time I looked at the clock was 3:15am and I had to get up at 5am for work. So you can imagine how several days of this has taken a toll on my mental/physical well being.

Today I was due to go to SPIN class after work and get in a kick ass cardio session. Instead I decided to takeĀ  nap. Yes, part of me feels guilty for ditching my workout, but the logical part of me says that I need a little down time every once in a while. It’s just that "American" part of me that insists more if better! And the more I wokout the faster I’ll get my results. I know it’s flawed logic! But Gaahhh!!! I just promised myself that since I took today off, I’ll start my P90X Dvds tomarrow before work.

Rotting Out My Organs????

So if you have been following my Blog you’ll see that about a week ago I started to take Hydroxycut Hardcore. I had to ramp down the doseage because I wasn’t sleeping. (& my libido was out of control!!!) So here I am taking 1/2 the recommended dose… (and still not sleeping)

I went to the gym today to get a little cardio out of the way. I was thinking 45-60 minutes on the elliptical. Before I even got there my tank top was soaked! (Yes, it was warm today but only around 77-82 degrees.) About 5 minutes into cardio, I am dying! I can feel the heat coming off me in waves. No joke! I’ve never had it that bad, even when I was running and maintaining a HR of 175-195 BPM. (in the past) Well, safe to say I only hacked it for 30 inutes before I couldn’t take it anymore. Toward the midpoint, I was beat red and actually stopped sweating all together. Something tells me that’s not good. (* I’m darker complected so I normally never get flushed.) Hmmm…

*Side Note- last night I drank 32oz worth of Powerade Zero throughout the night and never had to go pee… does this mean the thermos are making my dehydrated? I’m guzzling liquid like a fiend, so I don’t get a ripping headache! Maybe I should stop taking the stuff before I rot out my internal organs…..

Here’s a little inspiration for those of you who are worried about not seeing any changes in your body so far. It’s what I call the "Paper Towel Theory".

Let’s assume you go out and buy two rolls of paper towels, each with only 84 paper towels on it (one for each day of the challenge). You put one aside, and keep it for future reference (your before picture). The other one represents you (I’ll call your paper towel you- Ed). The core represents the lean Ed. The towels represent the fat that is covering the lean Ed. For sake of argument, let?s say that Ed wants to lose 21 pounds of fat, so (84/21) each sheet represents a quarter-pound of fat lost. Let’s also assume that Ed loses his fat equally during each day of the challenge.

Each day during the first week, you tear a sheet off of Ed, representing the fat he has lost for the day. Next, you put Ed next to the full roll (Big Al) for comparison. No noticeable difference!!! Even at the end of the week! This can’t be working for me!

But, being a good Ed, you continue to follow Body-for-LIFE. At the end of weeks two and three, you continue to compare Ed to Big Al, and still notice very little difference. That stinking Bill Phillips MUST be a liar!

But Ed is determined! He works hard! Hitting his 10’s & eating his 6 daily meals. Three more weeks go by, the sheets peeling off day after day, before Ed gets up the courage to stand next to Big Al again. Holy Myoplex! Ed is skinny! OK, not skinny, but less huge!!!

By the end of the 12-week Body-for-LIFE program, Ed is down to his lean dream, or somewhere near it. Ed is happy. We are happy. Big Al ? well he’s not so happy.

This is about the BFL PLan, but is relevant for cutting in general.

The lesson to be learned is that fat, like paper towels, comes off in sheets. When you are heavy, you are big around. And when you are big around, that fat is spread over a MUCH larger area just like that outside towel sheet. The closer you get to the lean you, the more each lost pound of fat shows, because it is spread over a smaller area.

While the outside sheet may only cover 1 layer of the roll, the inside sheet may go around 4 times. That last sheet looks like it gives you 4 times the results of the first sheet, but in reality, the results are the same. Your perception is just different! And you’ll never see the inside, if you aren’t patient while the outside is coming off! - Bob White

Just got my P90X stuff via the mail today. I’m so excited to get started. The only problem is, is I’m due in class shortly. I would skip but I skipped last week and I have an assignment due today. I know I’m a slacker. But hey, why go if I don’t get credit for showing up and the class is cake? I should have enough time for the intro DVD. But then it’s going to get me all jazzed up without having the time to continue! Maybe I should hold off until tomarrow?!?

*Side note- the wall mounted pull up contraption made me feel like I was putting together a bike. It’s pretty cool. Just need to find the wall studs so I don’t pull it out of the wall. Hee, hee.

Good Gracious!!!

Hydroxycut Hardcore is insane! I took some 2pm yesterday and then went to lift weights. At 7pm I took 3 Benadryl. Didn’t make a dent! I never got to sleep last night. I would lay down and keep getting back up to ride the spin bike, play on Ebay, read, watch Tv, etc. So today when I went to work I left my gym bag at home thinking I’de be wasted when I got off. Nope. I took another dose at about 12pm and I’m still reved! So here I am getting ready to go to the gym… I haven’t slept in 35+ hour. (That can’t be good.) But hey, at least the reduction in calories isn’t effecting my performance. The supps are definetly offsetting any low energy levels. :)

Supplement Side Effects????

I finally figured it out!!!! I started taking Hydroxycut Hardcore 4 days ago and in the last two days I feel like I’m coming out of my skin! As in REALLY frisky! I can’t sleep and my libido is through the roof. You know what it is?… The yohimbe HCL! Between that and the weight lifting, my testosterone spiked. (Not a lot compared to the guy’s, but whew! I’m not used to this!) I have a new respect for men if this is what they feel like normally. I can now see why they think about sex constantly!!!

So I’ve been on vacation all week messing around, cleaning the house, etc. I decided to get some time in at the gym to get a little head start on my start date Monday. Holy God! I’m so sore it hurts to breath. I feel like someone kicked the crap out of my upper torso, abs, hams, etc. The only thing that doesn’t hurt is my pinky toe! Gaahh!!!

Re-evaluation…

So I’ve been sitting on my… for a while now. I keep coming up with excuses on why getting in shape is just not happening. I am so done. Overall my weight and BF% isn’t that bad…if I had tusks! I am sick of not fitting into my BEAUTIFUL skinny jeans. (God knows I have a fortune in Rocks I can’t wear!) Done. Finished. Kaput! This is it! I will get in primo shape if it KILLS me. God knows I miss feeling fit and sexy!

*I should stop complaining… at least I have fantastic genetics on my side. Heck, I could actually be a BB or Fitness Competitor without a lot of the struggling so many others go through.

Day 12- Rest Day :)

So normally I wouldn’t be happy about taking a Rest Day. (Especially since this will be the third this week!) But today will be an exception. My muscles are SO sore it is unbelievable! All my parts hurt like knowbody’s business! It’s pretty awesome. I tried to do some cardio on the Spin bike, but it’s just too much. I’m just going to let my muscles recoup. I’ll do some light stretching though.

*Side Note: I went to pull on a pair of my skinny goal jeans (Rock and Republic size 0/25) and they came up really far! Once I drop the last 10lbs I’ll be set! Yes!!! :)
