Bigal33 vs. curt_james Battle!
It’s on!
Big Al and I are in a friendly (haHA - NOT!) competition to see who can transform their body to a more Arnold Schwarzenegger circa 1975 dieselness! What? It is TOO a word! :)
If you’re interested in following along and/or offering advice or guidance (Lord knows I need it!) then check out the thread!
If you’re not, well, that’s cool, too. Save yourself the trip. Here’s the most recent post:

Kermit here! :D
(waves hand)
The goal weight is 240 lbs.
I’m at about 180 and Al, my brother in bending iron, is at about 310.
So, to visualize where we’re each at in relation to the goal, let’s go to the KERMIT-VISION GRAPH!
240 - 180 = 60
310 - 240 = 70
So we’re about on the same playing field from the perspective of pounds to goal. I have no clue what my percent bodyfat is. The last I checked was maybe a freaking year ago at least at Gold’s here in Carlisle and it was fifteen? Not even sure. It was a handheld electronic unit the guy at the gym used.
The scale I purchased is a Weight Watchers deal that lists %bf. THAT fcuker says I’m 184.7 pounds and 21.7 percent FAT. Son of a…
Maybe we should adjust our competition to who can shed the most fat and build the most muscle? Naaah. I’m good with 240 as a goal. I’d be happy to hit 170 and 5% bf. I’d be ripped and with at least a Kermit-sized portion of diesel-ish muscle, right?
Okay, off to a baseball game tomorrow with my two younger brothers so I better get to bed now. Rockies versus the Phillies. We’re cheering for the Rockies because, hey, it’s my brother’s favorite team. ![]()

In honor of your upcoming victory, the very last word of the day for this year will be "dieselness (n.) to have the characteristics of being diesel (adj.) or dieselesque (adj.). See "Curt_James, art teacher, Terminator." I think my students will understand.

Sounds like quite a competition! Is there an end date or just seeing who can get there first? Also, I would NOT believe the fat scale! Mine said I was at 25 percent then I went to the gym the SAME DAY, and it is really around 17! Get it done at the gym…are much more accurate!

Big Curt!! I don’t think those scales are very accurate as far as body fat goes. I think they just use a formula. Try entering a different age and see if it doesn’t change your bodyfat.
Why should it change if it really measures your fat. Hmm?!!! Why Curt WHY?!!! Have a good day brother and thanks for your comments on my blog>

LOL!!! I love your blogs, Curt!!! LMAO@ your scale. Little fcuker. ;) Your goal sounds like a HUGE one - great job on thinking BIG to get big!! :) There’s nothing like a bit of competition to push you into working harder. I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

Uh, Curt, I doubt you’re over 21% bodyfat… if you are, then you’re keeping it on your feet or something!! ;) Best of luck with the challenge - it’s all YOU, my friend!!

Arnold, circa 1975 has always been my goal….The one I’ve been working on for 22 years now. Maybe another 22 and I’ll be there.

troys, that’s too cool. :)
Because it’s all about the dieselness!
wendym1979, the end date is when they shovel dirt on my coffin! GRRR!
I agree with you on the % accuracy. Definitely go by mirror over some random number.
reamade, I’ll give that a try.
JJanet, thanks for following along. I’m so glad you enjoy my attempts at humor. ;) Laughter is the best sound there is!
pixiglittrpants, who showed you pictures of my feet??? :)
